Remarks :

The college's Infrastructure is good (moderate). The Hostels, Labs are good But the main thing which lacks is the quality of faculty. Quality of faculty is good but better would have been better for the institution.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Curriculum is Technically strong but there is lack of faculty. The Syllabus is properly distributed with semester systems which makes it easier for students to grab knowledge and prepare for exams. Exam is bi yearly.

Placement Experience :

Placements were good in the past but dropped drastically in present. When I was studying in second year in the year 2015, Seniors who were to graduate that year bagged nice placement packages. But after that year placement dropped very badly and the packages provided were very bad.

College Events :

"Corona" is the Technical fest which takes place every year in the month of February mostly. This 4 days fest hosts Musical shows, Technical competitions, Game Competition etc. During the fest Some Famous artists are also invited to play. Like Underground Authority etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Moderate. It costs around 1.2 lakhs per year. We had to pay fees quarterly. Around 27, 28 thousand per quarter was paid to college for college fees and hostel fees. Canteen Fees for food was to be paid separately.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Economically weak students gets tuition fee waiver but have to opt the option in entrance examination form. The colleges itself does not provide any other Scholarship but assists you in getting scholarships through government organisations.

Campus Life :

Lab are adequately equipped. civil engineering department has updated labs and many equipments. Other department are also well equipped and are always upgrading. Sports are also encouraged but it's upto the individual who is interested. Sports competition takes place per year and takes place for about 5 days.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is good. Most of the facilities are well working in Hostel. The food is good and abundant. Bathrooms and toilets are clean and maintained. Free Wifi was provided but the speed was very bad. Indoor games and outdoor games facilitt were provided. There are no AC rooms in hostel though.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

The College's Alumni is wide. They are all throughout the nation. But I do not know any distinguished alumni. You can contact your senior student or some Alumni when guidance is needed. They are always there to help you.

Admission :

I cleared West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination after class 12 and got admission in that college through Board counselling. But you can also get admission without clearing entrance too. After clearing Entrance, I got the college and i went to the College and completed physical admission process and paid admission fees by DD.

Faculty :

Faculty is not adequate in number. Some faculty are very good while some are not up to the mark. Faculty should be trained more often. There are very good faculties in some departments like Mathematics department, physics, computer science, but in Civil engineering department i feel the lack of faculty.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
