How good is the IMI Delhi BFS course?

NG

If you are considering a career in finance, the BFS (Banking and Financial Services) course might be the right fit for you. It is a specialized course that focuses primarily on finance-related subjects, and it can give you a significant advantage in front of companies looking to hire for roles like Relationship Managers, Auditors, and Consultants.

On the other hand, the PGDM Finance course offers more flexibility as it allows you to combine your finance major with another major in marketing or operations, or even two or three minors. This can be beneficial if you are a fresher or if you are not entirely sure about what subjects are best for you. In the first year of the program, you will have the opportunity to explore all the available options before deciding on your area of specialization.

If you are confident about your interest in finance, then the BFS course can be an excellent choice. However, keep in mind that it might limit your exposure to other subjects and industries. If companies are looking for candidates with open-ended roles, they might not consider BFS students who are solely trained in finance. In contrast, PGDM Finance students who have combined their finance major with other subjects can provide a broader skill set that is more attractive to such companies.

BFS students have a smaller batch strength compared to PGDM Finance students, which can be an advantage in terms of early placements. However, it is essential to note that placements ultimately depend on the student's caliber and performance, regardless of their course or batch. It is also worth noting that BFS students might have fewer options in terms of recruiting companies compared to students in marketing and finance.

In conclusion, it is crucial to weigh the pros and cons of both courses and decide based on your interests, career goals, and research. Both courses have their unique advantages and disadvantages, and ultimately, your performance in the course will matter more than which one you choose.

IIM Indore has more merits than demerits.

Merits

  • Excellent exposure offered by IIM Indore
  • The mixed crowd from across the country will become great learning and developing network opportunities.
  • The assistance is provided by the top-notch faculty who are not only experienced but also humble.
  • The brand name of IIM is irresistible and can open hundreds of doors of opportunity just at the age of 23.
  • Indore is a well-connected and developing city with improved job opportunities and industrial development over the years.

The only disadvantage that IIM Indore has or that of any other IIM is the high fees. But if you compare it with the high package you will be offered once you complete the course the fees are really worth it.

Which is better, a BFS from IMT Ghaziabad or PGP from IIM Kashipur?

MBA from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (2019)

If fees aren’t a matter of concern for you then IMT Ghaziabad Dual Country program is a better option.

  • IMT Ghaziabad is a premier B-School. The brand value will offer certain advantages. NM Bangalore doesn’t belong in the same tier as IMT G.
  • You will have better placement opportunities at IMT G. All program of the institute has a common placement process. IMT Ghaziabad average package is around INR 15.57 LPA.
  • IMT DCP offers one year of global exposure.

In terms of exposure, placements, and opportunities, IMT Ghaziabad DCP is definitely the better option.

student of BBA Finance and International Business at Christ University

I am a BBA (Finance and International Business) student at Christ University. Currently I’m in the 2nd year of my degree.

No, it is not compulsory to have done your +2 with Maths as one of the subjects for admission into BBA (FIB) at Christ University Bangalore. The eligibility criteria for admission into BBA (FIB) at Christ is that you must pass in class 12 (10+2) with not less than 55% marks.

However, I would recommend you to opt for Maths as one of the subjects in class 11th and 12th. Doing so will help build your mathematical foundation. This will in turn help you during the course of your degree.

I hope this answer solved your query.
