IIT Dharwad is a UGC approved autonomous institute and has been recently established. The first batch will graduate in 2020. The main campus is under construction as of now, proposed to be spread across 530 acres, the students have to stay in a transit campus. Hence, all facilities cannot be availed yet.

While official data from the institute has not yet been released, these statistics are based on the summer placement and internship data.

• The highest stipend offered at the institute for 2020 was INR 80000 per month by Microsoft.
• Top recruiters at the institute included BARC, CSIR, ARAI, Microsoft, McAfee, SKF India among 30 others.
• With 29 companies taking part in the recruitment process, 80% students were placed.

• For the summer internship, 54.4% earned an internship through the TPO whereas 35% found an internship on their own.

Since official data from the institute is not available yet, one can depend on the internship data presented above to judge placements from the college so far. BITS Hyderabad, which is affiliated under BITS Pilani, ranked 30th by NIRF amongst top engineering colleges in India, is very well renowned for computer science. While IIT Dharwad hasn't been ranked yet by NIRF.

BITS Hyderabad, MSc Mathematics and CS dual degree:

• The course is a five year degree course divided into 10 semesters.
• Students learn modules from both mathematics and computer science engineering.
• Few humanities electives are also included in the first year of the course for holistic development.
• Subjects that students will learn in case of mathematics include algebra and analysis, calculus and optimisation research, etc.
• In case of the engineering equivalent of the degree, topics like database systems, programming in various languages,operating systems,ML/AI/IOT, etc. are included.

IIT Dharwad, B. Tech Electrical Engineering:

• The degree is a four year course consisting of eight semesters in total.
• The department focuses on the core topics of building physical devices, networking and control systems.
• It also encourages multi-disciplinary research including topics of computer science, chemistry, applied physics and more.
• Students are also encouraged to take up internships, research projects offered by the institute in collaboration with several other universities across the globe.

• Most students earn a median salary of INR 12 lakhs per annum.
• The highest package offered is INR 65 lakhs per annum for an international offer.

IIT Dharwad, B. Tech Electrical Engineering:

While both institutes are quite well established and both BITS and IITs have a grand brand value, one can make a choice between the two based on the above mentioned parameters and their interest in the subject.

DTU and IIT Dharwad both give head-on competition to each other in all fields. DTU is ranked 36th by NIRF and 2nd by Times Engineering Survey. IIT Dharwad was recently established, and it's making all efforts to be ranked among the best. Placement opportunities are impressive in both colleges. • DTU has an exemplary placement record in all its branches. For the EEE branch, the highest package offered was INR 20.33 lakhs. A total of 61 students were placed. 76 offers were given to students from different companies.

• IIT Dharwad saw its first placement in the year 2020. Internships with higher packages were offered to the students of the 3 branches. Top recruiters were Microsoft, Google, Doubtnut, Vizag steel plant, and a lot more.

The scholarship is being offered under various categories that include female candidates, academic excellence, and economically backward students. Both the colleges are good which is evident from its national rankings. To choose EE or EEE solely depends on the rank secured by the students in the entrance examination.

• In the year 2020, a total of 83% of students were placed from the Mechanical branch at IIT Jodhpur. Top recruiters were TCS, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Infosys.

• The top recruiter at IIST is ISRO that hired 108 Btech students. 27% of students were placed from the ECE branch.

• IIT Dharwad saw its first batch of placement, and Microsoft offered the highest internship package of INR 80000 per month.
