If you are considering NMIMS MPSTME for doing an MBA Tech course, here are some things that you should know.
- The course is good but it can’t be compared to the core MBA offered by NMIMS. Don’t join the institute just because of the brand name NMIMS.
- The institute has a strict 80% attendance rule.
- The living cost is quite high, especially if you are coming from Mumbai. You should consider it while calculating the course fee and the ROI.
- It doesn’t have a campus.

- Choose the Mumbai campus, because of the exposure that you will get. There are some great student chapters like ACM, PMI, CSI, MUN, etc. The student council also organizes great events and great lectures.
- One of the biggest advantages of choosing this course is that you will get 50 marks in internal evaluation. So, passing the subjects is easier.
- Some of the management faculties are quite good.
- The curriculum contains two internships i.e. technical and management. You will get to learn a lot through these internships. You will save one year and gain 6 months of experience.

Usually, students ranking in the top 300, get CSE, or IT at MPSTME, NMIMS. But this is just a tentative score. There is no such specific cutoff system. NMIMS Cutoff varies each year depending on the availability of seats.
So, try to score a good rank, to be safe. Since most students choose CSE or IT, the required cutoff remains high.

It entirely depends on the vacancy. There is no such cutoff system. If you can secure a good rank, i.e. within the top 300, then you can go for the CSE branch. Otherwise, it entirely depends on the vacancy. If you get a rank of around 1500-3000, and you want IT or CE, chances of getting admission are low, as most students choose these courses. However, in the counseling, they give a form in which you can fill out your choice of branch and if there are any vacancies later, you can upgrade your branch.
Is it worth it to go to NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management (MPSTME) by shelling 14 lacs?
One of my friends studied at NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management (MPSTME). According to him, there are some things you have to know before enrolling:
- MPSTME has a very rigorous curriculum.
- The classes are conducted 6 days a week, for about 6 hours a day.
- You will have to maintain a 80% attendance to be able to sit for the examinations.
- 100% attendance is required for tutorial and lab sessions.
- 2 assignments per subject is given to the students every academic year.
- The teachers conduct regular viva sessions also.
- Students are also required to opt for co-curricular activities as well.
- There are clubs and committees like Cultural, Technical, Social, Sports, Social Impact, Colloquium, etc. which they can be a part of.
Therefore, the overall atmosphere is very competitive. If you are studious enough you will be able to manage otherwise you will lag behind.
Is the MBA tech course offered by NMIMS Mumbai Certified?
The MBA Tech. program is specially designed to meet this growing need. It is an integrated course that comprises B.Tech and MBA. It is to be completed in a tenure of 5 years (3+2 years).
- The engineering degree is to be completed in 3 years with 15+ subjects each semester and MBA will be completed in 2 years.
- All programs of MPSTME are approved by the AICTE.
- The faculty for management is the same as the core students of NMIMS.

Which college has a better crowd, NMIMS MPSTME Mumbai campus, MIT( Manipal Institute of Technology), or Maharashtra Institute of Technology?
I have friends in all three institutes and therefore am the best person to answer this question. From what I heard from them MIT seems to have the best crowd and the following points will help you understand this better
- MIT has the best-dressed English-speaking crowd. Students from diverse states live and study here, so everyone is fluent in English.
- The students of MIR are very much involved in extracurriculars, especially sports. They like to party, watch movies, and play sports.
So if you want to make some crazy friends and enjoy your college life to the fullest, MIT is the best choice for you.
Which is a better option to pursue from MPSTME, NMIMS, Mumbai- IT or Computer Engineering?
The important thing is your choice and interest. If you are not interested in the subject, you will face difficulty completing the course. Being an IT student I am a little biased about the field.
- Keep in mind that premier universities such as IITs and BITS lack IT. This is due to the fact that IT is not a legitimate branch. It was exclusively created to meet the industry’s needs.
- Consider a CS engineer as an auto engineer and an IT engineer as a mechanic or a driver. It is, in fact, a very well-paid job, but that is all there is to it.
- You'll be hired by organizations that specialize in maintenance and software development.
- Any research or new innovations in the realm of computers are almost always carried out by CS or ECE engineers.
- IT is mostly concerned with computers and software. CSE, on the other hand, is a discipline of mathematics with a concentration on computing.
- In IT, you have to concentrate on software rather than the backend whereas in CSE you will learn more about computers and applied mathematics.
- When it comes to job placements, both streams have good placement records. Due to their huge demand in the growing corporate industry, there will always be the requirement for IT professionals.
