Before I tell you about the better institute between JNTU Hyderabad and CBIT, let me ask you a question. Are you genuinely interested in CS, or is it just because it’s a highly coveted branch and everyone is after it these days? You need to determine if you are serious about becoming a coder or a computer programmer or if is it just because you want to get placed early.
Once you are sure about CS, then considering the quality of education, infrastructure, and experienced professors, JNTUH seems to be the better option.
Ultimately, the institute does not guarantee your chances of success but your passion and hard work do.
A close friend of mine is currently pursuing an integrated program at JNTU and is not at all pleased with its standard of education. He stated a few points that clarified his stance further
In all, I would suggest you go for CBIT as it seems to be in a better position than JNTU both in terms of placements as well as quality of education.
I don't know much about CBIT and Hindustan University. But I won’t recommend you the NCR campus of SRM.
It is in fact not located in the National Capital Region. It is situated in Modinagar (Sikrikalan to be precise). The management of this college is very poor. You’ll be wasting a lot of energy for simple requests like getting statements attested, acquiring a recommendation letter, getting fee refunds, etc.
I studied CSE over there. The faculty for CSE is considered to be the best. However, in reality, most teachers don’t even have an idea of their specialization. You’ll find that the same teacher is taking classes for various specializations like Data Structures, Mobile Computing, Theory of Computation, Compiler, etc. New ideas aren’t encouraged in the classroom.
The hardware in CSE labs is top notch, but the software is all outdated. The hostels are decent but the mess food is disappointing. The hostel wardens do minimum to maintain discipline. For placements, you’ll have to travel all the way to Chennai, with no support from the management, and no accommodation facilities.
Thus, do not choose the NCR campus of SRM University, especially for the CSE program.
First and foremost, importance should be given to the institute. If you are ready to work hard, then opt for NIT Warangal. Here are some points you should keep in mind before making a final decision.
My brother studies Mechanical Engineering at Muffakham Jah College.
So, here is some information about MJ College-
I hope you select the best college according to your goals and dreams.
B.Tech in Information Technology from CBIT is any day better than a Computer Science and Engineering degree from GRIET. The reason is that the CBIT IT branch has better placements than that of a GRIET CSE branch.
Placements: (Winning Institute - CBIT)
The average placements hover in the INR 6 LPA to INR 12 LPA range at CBIT for IT and CSE branches with the lowest package of close to INR 3.5 LPA. There are also a lot more MNCs coming to the CBIT campus than that of the GRIET campus.
Course Fee:
The only area where GRIET zooms ahead of CBIT is in the case of the program fee. For CBIT it is now INR 2.2 lakhs for the management quota students while it is only between INR 1 lakhs to 1.5 lakhs for GRIET.
You should choose CBIT as it offers better placements.
Let’s do a comprehensive comparison of IIT Hyderabad, IIIT Hyderabad, and NIT Warangal (as my knowledge is limited to these 3 only)
IIT Hyderabad
NIT Warangal
IIIT Hyderabad: It’s considered a good option for computer science students.
BITS Hyderabad: It is also a decent institute with students enjoying good opportunities and freedom.
CBIT: It is one of the best private institutes in AP and Telangana. However, it cannot be compared to NIT Warangal or others, as the exposure and opportunities of NIT are way better.
In my opinion, the ultimate preference order should be,
IIT Hyderabad> IIIT H>=BITs H>= NIT W>CBIT
Engineering colleges such as SNIST, CBIT, Vasavi, and MGIT charge high course fees because of the facilities they offer. These colleges have great faculty bases. Students are provided with ample learning resources. These colleges also offer good returns on investments. Here are the recent placement highlights of the institutes.
Colleges | Average CTC (in INR) |
SNIST | 4 LPA |
CBIT | 6.5 LPA |
Vasavi | 4 LPA |
MGIT | 4.06 LPA |
These are the reasons why SNIST, CBIT, Vasavi, and MGIT charge high course fees.
In Telangana, Veltech University is definitely better than CBIT. The campus is great. It offers a student-friendly environment. Some of my friends graduated from the institute and they had a good experience. It also has a good placement record. The placement average is 90%. The average CTC offered to the student in the last placement drive was 5 LPA.
A relative of mine used to be a student of NIT Raipur. He pursued electronics at the institute and in his opinion, it is a good institute for electronics. However, choose the branch if you have a genuine interest.
If you are interested in CSE, then you stand to benefit from NIT Raipur Electronics too, as the students pursuing electronics at NIT Raipur get placed in CSE companies most of the time. The students also get placed in IT companies as the campus is visited by only one or two core electronic companies.
The faculty of the institute is experienced and supportive. It has also good lab facilities.
You can get placed in a CSE company through NIT Raipur which gives you the opportunity to choose your area of interest whether it is CSE or IT.
The average package offered by NIT Raipur in 2020 was INR 9.5 LPA. The top companies that visit the institute during the placement process are Siemens, Barclays, TATA, FIAT, Reliance, Amazon, etc.
You should do your own research on the institutes before deciding on any of the institutes.
