One of my friends has completed civil engineering from IET DAVV and she was not happy with her choice. Following are some facts shared by her which might give you a clear idea.
Categories | IET DAVV | Ujjain Engineering College | Medi-Caps |
Course Fee | 2.74 lakhs | 25,151 (1st year) | 4.85 lakhs |

Average CTC | 8 LPA | 3.2 LPA | 3.5 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Accenture, Capgemini, etc. | HP, IBM, etc. | TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc. |
Though the performance of IET DAVV is gradually lowering, it is still the best one among the mentioned 3 colleges. Placements are better at IET DAVV than the other two. Also, IET DAVV has a locational advantage.
One of my friends studied at IIIT Bhopal. He said that pursuing engineering from IIIT Bhopal will prove to be better than IET DAVV. Here are some reasons as to why:
The better option would be IIIT Bhopal without a doubt. However, IET DAVV is also good. But it ultimately is your choice and what you want to pursue.
Particulars | IET DAVV | IIIT Bhopal |
Total fees | 4.12 Lakhs | 7.2 Lakhs |

The short answer is no. My brother is currently studying mechanical engineering at IET-DAVV. He got AIR 63000 rank in the general category and still had to struggle a lot to get admission.
With a rank of 3,16,000, it’s next to impossible to get into IET-DAVV even from SC/ST category. However, if you are looking forward to the next attempt, check out the opening and closing ranks of IET-DAVV 2020 to get a better view.

From the above closing and opening ranks, you can easily estimate how fierce the competition goes. None of the branch ranks goes up to even 90,000 thus securing a seat with a rank of 316000 is not possible at all. The best recommendation is to try in private colleges or prepare for the next year.
Opt for any of these branches only if you are really interested in either of these branches or if you have plans of pursuing post-graduation in either of the subjects.
The reason behind this lies in whether you will be treating your technical graduation degree just as a simple graduation degree or are you really looking for it. If it is just going to be a simple graduation degree just like in campus placements, government job preparations, MBA entrance preparations, GRE preparations, etc., then it is not worth going for, because there is too much work in these branches.
If this is the case, choose any of the branches from CSE, IT, EI, and Civil Engineering. It will help you in saving a lot of time and hence, prepare well for entrances. Also, you can fully enjoy your college life.
I have a few friends from IET DAVV Indore, and according to them, if your general merit list rank is 19k then there are good chances for admission at the institute.
According to the recent cutoff trends, the cutoff required for OBC category students for the CSE branch was 104614-203621.
For selection, the institute gives first preference to OBC and the UR (Un-reserved) people with NCL.
If you didn’t get in by the first round you will get CSE in the second round. For more details regarding cutoff visit the official website of IET DAVV. Hope this helps.
Everything depends on your interest. If you wish to pursue your career in Electronics then Electronics and Instrument engineering and Electronics & Telecom engineering would be a better choice. If you are not certain about any branch then you should opt for IT or CS, as the placements of IT or CS branches are good. The students of Electronics also get into IT industries.

You should talk to recent pass-out students of IET DAVV and know the current scenario before making any decision.
The most important thing when it comes to such a decision is to follow the subject of your choice and then go for the institute criteria. ET and CSE are different and have major variations in their courses. Being a CSE graduate myself, I would prefer you also opt for CSE as it is widely in demand.

There are several benefits of being a CSE graduate. Top companies like Microsoft, Google, Accenture, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, etc. participate in the placement drive. You will definitely secure a job offer very easily. Due to the huge demand, more and more students opt for CSE than any other branch.
Both CSE and IT follows the same curriculum till 3rd year of college. You will only find a few different subjects in your final year. IT on a broad scale deals with the networking and security part. On the other hand, CSE is all about the development of software, applications, and programming.
However, it is suggested that you opt for IT at IET Lucknow instead of UIT (RGPV) CSE if you are concerned about the placement scenario. It is so because IET has better placement offers. Not only this but the overall structure and curriculum of IT are extremely good. Being an autonomous institution, IET Lucknow offers more benefits than the other institutions.
The average package offered to the CSE students at IET is around INR 4.5 Lakhs per annum as per the placement report of the institute in the year.
Having to know people from both the institutes, I can say that they are equally good. But my choice will be inclined towards IET DAVV as it is more popular among students as well as professionals.
Both the institutes have good placement records and stats, especially in the CSE branch. If you’re a resident near Maharashtra then POCCE would be a good option whereas if you’re near Madhya Pradesh then IET- DAVV would be the suitable choice.
Categories | POCCE | IET DAVV |
Course Fee | 5.5 lakh | 2.74 lakh |
Highest CTC | 8 LPA | 21 LPA |
Average CTC | 6 LPA | 11 LPA |

IET- DAVV has been recognized and awarded many felicitations. Moreover, IET-DAVV has almost all its courses recognized from AICTE which provides an advantage. Thus it is suggested you opt for IET DAVV over POCCE.
With this rank, there is a very low chance of getting admission in IT at IET DAVV. Refer to the table below to get an idea of the JEE Main ranks for B.Tech courses at UIT RGPV :
Round | 2019 Cut-off by rank | 2020 Cut-off by rank |
1 | 753195 | 889185 |
2 | 1139438 | 865884 |
3 | 1044945 | - |
4 | 573899 | - |
However, you can try for UIT RGPV and check if there is a vacant seat in IT.
