It is suggested that you choose the institute that is in close proximity to your location, since both the institutes are rather tier-3 Indian Engineering Colleges. 

• The major similarity both Goa Engineering College and NIT Goa share is that fresh graduates often go on to become clerks at several service based companies. 
• They often get an average salary package ranging anywhere between 3 LPA to 4 LPA.

In any case, nobody can apparently have access to the actual placement report of either institute because most of them generally spike their records for unjust purposes. Yet, here is a detailed placement statistics, as is claimed by the institutes in general.

Indian students generally should enroll at colleges near to their residence. If the arrangement for the fee which is charged by MIT would not be a problem for you then It is suggested that you opt for admission in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at MIT Manipal. Having some friends studying there I can say that there are many things that make MIT Manipal stand out.

Some of the good things about MIT Manipal which makes it a better option include the following:

• The rank of MIT in the NIRF rankings is much higher than that of NIT Goa.
• MIT Manipal offers better campus facilities and opportunities as NIT Goa is a relatively newer college.
• Some of the well-known firms from the domain of electronics and other core branches recruit students of MIT Manipal.
• Even if they are not in large numbers, they are more than other institutions where just one or two key companies from the electronics field visit to recruit candidates.
• I am not familiar with the faculty of EEE at NIT Goa, but at MIT the EI department faculty is excellent.

Summer internships are available at companies like Western Digital and Reliance for students in their fifth or sixth semester. If you get an internship through campus recruitment, you may be able to convert it to PPO if you do well during the tenure of your internship.

If you are a General category, Goa origin student then 70,000 should be enough to get you a seat. With your rank, you can get a seat for Mech or Civil. You have a good chance to get EEE or ECE too.

The preference should be firstly based on the branch and not on the colleges. Opt for the college where you get the branch of your choice. It's not college that matters but rather it's the branch. If you get the branch of your choice, you will be more likely to study that well and attain a successful future. 

• If you are more into the programming languages, the technology and are passionate about learning the subjects associated with the CSE, then opt for GEC as there's nothing above the branch. 
• If you have an interest in EEE, opt straight for the NIT Goa as it is an institute that will never disappoint in terms of placement, academics, faculties, or higher studies. 
• NIT Goa is a brand in itself. But opt for it only if you are sure about the branch.

If you think that you will take EEE in NIT Goa and then change the branch to CSE, then it's nearly impossible. There are high cut offs for changing the branch and it happens after following a certain set of rules that is not possible. So choose wisely as your career depends on it.

No, it is not possible to get admission to the mechanical engineering branch of NIT Puducherry with a rank of 40k, through another state quota. According to the 2020 cutoff trend, the closing cutoff of Mechanical Engineering for general category students was 31725. 

So, your chance of getting admission with a rank of 40k through another state quota is pretty slim. 

As some of my friends studied at NIT Goa, I learnt from them that, No preparation is required to take a hostel at NIT Goa. 

• NIT Goa provides all the necessary facilities in their hostel rooms. 
• Once the student reaches the hostel campus, the staff will complete the registration process and room allotment process. 
• For the registration process, the documents such as the proof of admission in the college, fee receipt, identification proof, and other required documents should be taken to have a hassle-free registration process. 
• The room would be allotted with two more extra students. 
• Each student is provided with a table, a chair, and a cupboard for their own particular needs. 
• The college's hostel campus also has free Wi-Fi facilities available.
