The final year projects in the MAKAUT are done either in groups of 5 students or fewer each. Some students prefer doing their projects alone to impress the invigilators and end up in books. Usually, students doing their projects alone get better grades than those doing them in groups.

Projects done in a group include maximum efforts of only one or two students while the rest of the members just while away their time and make no major contributions. Some of the professors are well aware of this practice and thus give low grades to students involved in group projects while some professors give good grades nevertheless. 

In my opinion, if you genuinely want to learn while making the project, do it alone. This will be the first project you will be working on alone and will impact your degree too. 

Recently, there were complaints regarding the high fees charged by MAKAUT and many students in the affiliated colleges of the University were facing hardship during the studentship. Some cases that resulted in this situation are

• Death of a Parent /Guardian / Earning Member of the family
• Accident faced during their studentship

The university thereby introduced measures to extend relief to the casualty-stricken students. Soon the Student Welfare Committee (SWC) was organized. The body suggested that 100% (50% of the semester Fee will be waived by the respective colleges and the remaining 50% will be provided by the University.

There aren’t any specific fee waiver policies for SC students at MAKAUT.

No, if a student fails or absent in a lab exam in MAKAUT he does not necessarily get a year lag. In case you face a similar situation and somehow are not able to appear for a lab exam, contact your faculty and they will give you passing marks. The lab exam is of 100 marks that comprise other aspects apart from the lab exam itself. These include

• Divided into attendance
• Lab assignment
• Lab performance

So even if you do not appear for the lab exam you will be marked on the above criteria and get passing marks. Honestly, you don't need to worry about the lab exams at MAKAUT as it's nearly impossible to fail. 

Yes, they would carefully analyze the backlog even after you cleared it in the third semester. The certificate provided by MAKAUT clearly mentions the year of passing, which is a disadvantage for students with a backlog. Some companies give preference to students without a backlog; in such cases, you won’t be able to attend the interviews. But many giant recruiters are looking for the talent and skills of the candidate, not the mark list. Try to score a minimum of 60% in your academics, which is the basic eligibility requirement to appear for placement. So do not worry about your backlog and strive hard to clear it in the third semester itself.

You need to strive very hard to score a perfect 10 in the second semester. Strong determination and dedication are the keys to success. Covering each and every topic given in the syllabus, and self-study is the best tool. Stay away from distractions and reduce your leisure time. You can also refer to the MAKAUT organizer for the second semester to follow the question pattern. Keep a timetable and a consistent study routine to score high marks.

If you are considering joining JU then go for either JD Birla or Institute of Business Management. Their BHA program is one of the best in the country. However, JU has a bit of political influence so that might affect your learning experience. That being said, MAKAUT BBA seems to be the best option for you. Their curriculum and job opportunities are top notch and the institute does not have any kind of political affiliations. 

I will not suggest you join CU unless you are getting Goenka or Scottish. From what I have heard, the university has a very tough grading system. This might affect your job opportunities so consider this once before joining.

My cousin recently completed her graduation from MAKAUT and received the final semester grade card and degree certificate issued by MAKAUT from the college administration. 

The degree certificate denotes the completion of a course and is actually a course completion certificate. MAKAUT does not issue any leaving certificate although you may get one on request. The migration certificate is issued to students who get enrolled for higher studies in any other university. There is a separate procedure to obscure the migration certificate for which you will have to make a request for its prescribed application form along with the required documents.
