HR
Hrishita Ranjan Posted On : September 21st, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering,Haldia Institute of Technology (2015)

The present scenario of the Computer Science and Engineering department at Haldia Institute is a bit better in comparison with that of the other departments.

  • Out of all the departments, the institute witnesses the maximum placement from the CSE department.
  • Almost every year, around 3-4 service-based companies visit the campus of the Institute for the recruitment of students.
  • These On-campus placement drives are organized by the institute.
  • Firms like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra visit the campus for recruitment purposes.
  • Approximately 200 students out of 400-450 get recruited for various job profiles by reputed firms every year.
  • Additionally, you would also have the option to appear for pool campus recruitment rounds, but it would not help you if you do not possess extraordinary skills in the domain of Computer Science.
  • Few BPO companies also visit the campus of the institute to recruit suitable candidates through on-campus recruitment drives.
  • The data mentioned above may vary on an annual basis based on the status of the IT market.
Categories CSE at Haldia Institute of Technology
Course Fee 3.95 lakh
Highest CTC 13-18 LPA
Average CTC 6-8 LPA
Recruiting Companies TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Johnson and Johnson, etc.

Overall, the placement percent for the CS department ranges between 50 to 70 percent. If you get enrolled in the CSE department, the chances of you getting recruited by a reputable company would significantly be better than the other departments.

Which is better, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University or Haldia Institute of Technology?

TA

Lives in New Delhi

Both MAKAUT and Haldia Institute of Technology are decent engineering colleges and choosing one between the two is a matter of personal preference. In general placement of HIT is better than M. A. K. U. T. The choice also depends on the branch you are getting. If you are inclined towards CS or IT then MAKAUT is a better option but if you want to opt for a core branch then choose colleges like IEM, Heritage, and Techno India Salt Lake. Haldia should be your last preference.

How is the hostel facility for girls at haldia institute of technology? Is there any kind of strict rules and regulations?

One of my friends was a student of the Haldia Institute of Technology and as she was from Delhi, she had to opt for the hostel. As much as I remember she had no problem with the hostel facilities but there were a few non-major issues she had.

  • She wasn’t much habitual of living away from her family so she wasn’t comfortable with the food of the hostel as the taste wasn’t much homely.
  • Besides this, the hostel is well-constructed and the rooms are well-maintained with moderate bathrooms.
  • Moreover, you will be provided with the laundry facilities which is quite helpful.
  • Apart from this, the main concern for parents remains the security of their children. For this, the university has provided high security in the hostel. This includes the round-the-clock security guards plus the warden which keeps a good record of the students’ in and out time.
  • You will have to follow in and out time properly. Failing to do so, the warden may call your guardians and that may be a blunder to you. The timings for students’ in time is 7:30 pm and you have to stick to it anyhow.

Therefore, the hostels are quite amazing with all the security you’d as for.

What is the chance for getting refund admission fees from Haldia Institute of Technology?

DS
Dipanshu Sharma Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, Haldia Institute of Technology (2015)

You can get your admission fee back as a refund after giving a proper application to step down from the admission process. Haldia Institute of Technology also follows this.

It’s just a matter of how much time it is going to take. You need to keep documents like the receipt for the first semester, clearance certificate, and ID proof handy with you. These documents can be submitted to the finance or the accounts office of the Institute.

This process can be done online too. Since last year Haldia Institute of Technology has been transferring back the refund for the admission fee through NEFT. The transfer mostly happens on the same day when the refund application is submitted.

It must be noted that the college will deduct an amount of 2000 Rupees as admission processing fees.

Is the Haldia Institute of Technology better than the Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College?

PK

B.Tech in civil engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology (2014)

Well, according to the information I have received from my friends enrolled in both the institutes, I would say that both of these institutes are not that good.

  • The teaching methodologies used are extremely bad, and the alumni network of both colleges is utterly awful.
  • If you have a good academic record and are good at understanding concepts then do not consider these colleges.
  • I believe that you should work on yourself and improve your skills and knowledge to become an engineer.
  • You can opt for a drop year and prepare for the JEE Examinations of the following year.
  • Study for a minimum of 3-4 months so that you can at least be eligible for admission at a decent institute, better than these two.

Ensure that you have the appropriate knowledge from the 10+2 education, before applying for admission at colleges. I hope that these suggestions would help you in creating better prospects for your career.

How is haldia institute of technology for biotechnology?

AK
Abhimanyu Kumar Posted On : November 10th, 2022
Studied at Haldia Institute of Technology

On the academic front, HIT excels in the field of biotechnology. This department's faculty members are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer a variety of hands-on practicals to help you better understand the subject. If you are seriously interested in studying Biotechnology, HIT is one of the best places to get it.

There will be few opportunities for placement in your core sector. 1-2 companies from the core sector, such as ITC/Parle, come to campus to recruit. There have been cases where students have landed internships in well-known companies before finishing their courses. So, basically, it all depends on you; if you have good grades, your chances of getting a job out of college are very good. If not, the IT sector is always an option.

Which is better for ECE, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Techno India Salt Lake Sector V or Haldia Institute of Technology?

DP
Dhriti Pal Posted On : September 21st, 2021
Studied Computer Science at Techno India Salt Lake (2017)

All three colleges, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Techno India Salt Lake Sector V, and Haldia Institute of Technology are very popular colleges to pursue ECE. After careful consideration, I would say that Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) is the best among the others mentioned.

  • Dayananda Sagar is now an autonomous college and there are a lot of facilities available for the students.
  • The placement opportunities available are excellent. Many reputed companies visit the campus for interviews. Being located in Bangalore, it has a location advantage.
  • Industry visits, seminars, and internships are plenty. This can be a very good opportunity to gain some work experience and knowledge.
Categories ECE at DSCE
Placement Percentage 12 lakh
Highest CTC 10-12 LPA
Average CTC 6 LPA
Recruiting Companies Wipro, TCS, Aditya Birla, Capgemini, etc.

Hence, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is a better college than Techno India and HIT as it offers better placements and facilities to the students. Also, as the college is in Bangalore and staying there could be expensive. The living expenses and travel costs are extremely higher than usual. So prepare accordingly.

Which is best, Techno India, Salt Lake City for IT, or Haldia Institute of Technology for CSE?

CR
Chetna Rao Posted On : September 29th, 2021
Studied B.Tech Computer Science Engineering,Techno India Salt Lake (2020)

You should go for IT at Techno India, Salt Lake as it is better than Haldia Institute in all factors. Being located in an IT hub gives it a huge advantage in terms of exposure and opportunities.

The faculty members are average and highly qualified. Most importantly, the placement record at Techno India is great than Haldia. Staying in Kolkata will help you in taking coaching or internship opportunities. The academic structure for the IT branch is better here.

However, the infrastructure is much better at Haldia than Techno India. But it is still suggested to choose Techno India Salt Lake for IT. You can change your stream after 1st semester if you want to study CSE.

Is there a way to change my branch in Haldia Institute of Technology through donation?

AS
Aditya Singh Posted On : September 16th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering,Haldia Institute of Technology (2016)

Instead of trying to change your branch through donation, you should rather earn that place for yourself through your marks. If you have maintained a CGPA of 8.5 and above in your 1st and 2nd semester then you would be easily able to change your branch in the 3rd semester. This CGPA is a minimum criterion for switching branches.

If you are willing to change your branch to Mechanical Engineering or Civil then you would definitely have to step up your score game as there are plenty of students with a CGPA of around 8.5. One with the highest marks is generally given more preference in changing their branch at Haldia Institute of Technology.

Will I get into the Heritage Institute of Technology with a 20k rank in the WBJEE?

AC
Ajita Roy Chowdhury Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
Studies Computer Science and Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology, 2023

The rankings depend on the recently produced cut off by the institute, so as to process admission. By the rank you have secured, it is quite apparent that you can get an admission seat for the Biotechnology branch.

Here is a breakdown of the cut-off (opening and closing) recently produced by the institute.

Courses General - Outside Home State General - Home State
B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering 4427 5107
9550 9695
B.Tech in Biotechnology Engineering 8873 4928
16402 16692
B.Tech in Chemical Engineering 4284 991
12972 12425
B.Tech in Civil Engineering 1294 7052
14319 14044
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering 349 523
3434 3389
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering 2078 3579
7299 7325
B.Tech in Information Technology 2900 3006
4254 4236

However, at times, it can take you until the last round to get shortlisted. In any case, it is generally difficult for a general student to acquire admission at Heritage Institute of Technology with a rank of 20,000. But, it is best that you still research more about the latest cut-off trends.
