How are the faculties of NIT Trichy in instrumentation and control engineering?

VM
Vishal Mehra Posted On : February 8th, 2024
B.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from NIT Trichy

I must tell you that the faculty of all NITs is quite similar.

You might be disappointed at the faculty of NIT Trichy or any other top engineering college. This is because the bar of your expectations will be high after clearing such a competitive exam. But don’t worry, you’ll really like some of the teachers from the Instrumentation and Control department. You’ll want to attend their lectures.

Make sure to have friendly relations with your seniors. They will tell you a lot about the different faculty members. Moreover, be consistent in your self study routine and take help from online resources. Don’t expect the faculty to spoon feed you.

Which is better among M.Tech in industrial engineering from IIT (BHU) or M.Tech in design from IIT Bhubaneswar?

AS
Aditi Sinha Posted On : April 30th, 2022
M.Tech from Indian Institutes of Technology

You should choose according to your career plan. M.Tech in Design is a core field of engineering. This branch will be better if you plan on pursuing a Ph.D.

If you want jobs with good salary packages, Industrial Engineering from IIT BHU will be better. Scop of Industrial Engineering is pretty good in India. Students of this branch get job opportunities from sectors like delivery/logistic companies, eCommerce sites, textile industries, FMCG, and manufacturing. IIT BHU offers a median CTC of around INR 15.1 LPA to the students of this branch.

Which one is better: PGDIE at NITIE or MTech in nanoscience at IISc?

RD
Rajashree Dalui Posted On : August 11th, 2021
Studied Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

It all actually depends on your interest. As both of these options are completely different and two different areas of interest. You must choose what you find interesting. There would not be any conflict between these two institutes over the placement stats as both of them will give good placements to their students. Here are the recent placement highlights of the institutes.

Parameters NITIE IISc
Average CTC 20 LPA 10 LPA
Highest CTC 43 LPA 40 LPA
Major recruiters ETLI, EY, IDFC First HP, Dell, Intel

If you are interested in tough work that is more challenging or research and development-oriented, you should choose IISc. As in the world of Nanoscience, IISc is the country’s most renowned institution. And if you are more inclined towards managerial work, then it would be better to go to NITIE.

The career prospect of doing M.Tech in Quality Reliability and Operations Research from ISI Kolkata can be divided into two parts, i.e. jobs and placements. You don’t need to worry about job prospects, you will get placement offers as a Business analyst or Data scientist with a similar CTC of top b-school graduates. According to the 2021 ISI Kolkata placement highlight, the average CTC offered was INR 19 LPA.

Doing Ph.D. or higher studies can be difficult, especially if you are planning on going overseas. It’s better if you choose the Industrial Engineering domain. It will aline with QROR. VS

M.Tech. VLSI System Design, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2015)

Basically, M.Tech in process control and instrumentation is considered a multi-disciplinary course. According to some of my friends studying at NIT Trichy, a student gets the privilege to study varied subjects headed by different faculties like ICE and chemical departments.

  • Earlier the degree of the course was provided by the chemical department but now it has been shifted to ICE.
  • Usually, it has been seen that this branch seems a bit difficult to students as they need to study different subjects.
  • The difficulty arises when chemical students need to study electrical branches or vice-versa.
  • Coming to the placements, if you have a desire to get a decent job after the two years of your program, then NIT is the best place.
  • Starting from the second semester the placement committee develops certain skills that can help you immensely during the final placements.

According to the recent placement report, the following data can be tabulated as given below:

Categories M.Tech in Process Control and Instrumentation in NIT Trichy
Placement percentage 83.3
Average salary offered INR 7.84 LPA
Median salary offered INR 8.50 LPA
Highest salary offered INR 12.81 LPA
Companies visited Tata motors, Veoneer, Valeo, Baker Hughes

Lastly, we can conclude that if you are aspiring to pursue M.Tech in process control and instrumentation, then NIT Trichy is the best place where you can grow along with your holistic development, and get an opportunity to be placed in one of the most prestigious companies.

How is Systems Engineering at IIT BHU? How are the placements? What is IIT BHU like for MTech students?

SS
Sukhmani Singh Posted On : August 14th, 2020
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi

System engineering is an interdisciplinary course that can be pursued by EE/EC/IN students who have valid a GATE score. EC/IN students may face problems as major course content is related to electrical engineering like electrical drive, power drive, operation & control, so electrical engineering students find it easy as compared to EC/IN students.

The total no.of seats are 9 and a maximum of 40% seats can be filled by a particular branch (from EE, EC, IN).

Now coming to placement, it totally depends on the student, as there is no specific company for system engineering but students will get the opportunity to sit in for the companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, Sap Labs, Qualcomm, Intel, Eaton, Kla Tencor, TCS, Cognizant, Bosch, General Electric, Mercedes Benz, Math works, Tata Motors, Texas Instruments, Cisco, Honeywell, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Relaxo, Kotak Mahindra Bank and many more. There are also lectureship jobs from universities & coaching institutions. One student can apply for a max of 60 companies. There is also one student one job rule according to that if a student gets a job offer in one company then he will not be eligible to sit for another company similarly if someone gets an internship in one company then they will not eligible for other companies.

In IIT BHU, the M.Tech fee is 2 lakhs/annum. Most students prepare for govt.sector jobs as they get sufficient time to do so as the schedule is not hectic.
