  Young India Fellowship

The Young India Fellowship program (YIF) offered by Ashoka University is excellent.

Many other institutions are offering Young India Fellowship programs. Most of the reviews were in favor of Ashoka University. After a lot of searching, I managed to find Ashoka university. I called them about such programs, and in a soft tone, they asked me to visit campus.

YIF has an excellent placement record of 99%. It is valued in India as well as abroad. It provides a great career path for your life and growth. Those who are pursuing a Masters or Ph.D., the YIF gives them a chance to study abroad. The majority of them get admitted to Harvard University, LSE, and many other colleges in India.

YIF is an outstanding experience for any student. It also depends on what kind of person you are as well. The telephonic interview of YIF is a very relaxed one. They mainly get interviews based on verifying the application.

If any Indian students are interested in joining the YIF, they can join Ashoka University. YIF is an excellent opportunity for any students to have career growth opportunities. This program lasts for only one year. Most of the students will gracefully embrace YIF.

The YIF is an intensive version of Ashoka's undergraduate experience. YIF is a postgraduate program providing liberal education on learning. Indians under the age of 29 can apply in the YIF program. The students having undergraduate and doctoral degrees are eligible for the YIF.

The fellows follow the modules instead of semesters and terms. The students can take the courses as per their choice. The YIF consists of a team of five people to work on ELM projects.

These ELM projects cater to the needs of the various types of clients. The ELM project and your team are based on your area of interest.

YIF will be a significant achievement for your career that will boost it for success. You would encounter amazing people and have excellent conversations. You will feel that something unusual has happened in your life after joining YIF.

It is always advisable to speak to the team or visit the campus of YIF to know more. If anyone is interested in joining YIF at Ashoka University, then these are advantages:-

Would you chose Ashoka University or IIM Indore's IPM programme?

JA
Jeena Agarwal Posted On : January 24th, 2023
Bachelor of Arts from Indian Institute of Management Indore (Graduated 2021)

You don't have much of a problem if your interests are in the sciences or literature and you don't have a preference for business or management. Clearly, Ashoka is the superior choice. In a similar vein, IIMI is the better choice if business/management or their related fields are of interest to you. Although neither is firmly established, Ashoka offers a more liberal arts university environment while IIMI offers a more business school environment due to the inherent structures of the programs and institutes. Because it is a liberal arts course, the IPM course is fairly nuanced. The Ashoka courses are no exception, particularly those in economics and finance.

IPM's undergraduate program has no concept of "major" or specialization, just like the MBAs at IIMs. Math, statistics, economics, social sciences, and communication are all required subjects. In the end, Ashoka is a liberal arts college and IIMI is a business school. Even the most widely studied subject, economics, will be taught and learned very differently in each location. Again, you'll have to decide which you like best.

It's conceivable that Ashoka has the resources to send you to Ph.D. programs. Given the substantial alumni presence in business, IPM might be better able to place you in professional settings. Having said that, they are not mutually exclusive; you can pursue a Ph.D. after IIMI or an MBA after Ashoka.

Which university is better for economics: the Narsee Monjee (NMIMS) or the Ashoka University?

VT
Vaibhav Taneja Posted On : August 14th, 2020
B.A.(Hons) Economics & International Relations, Ashoka University (2020)

Ashoka University’s B.Sc Economics program offers a major in Economics and interdisciplinary majors in Economics and Finance, Economics & History, and in Politics, Philosophy and Economics(PPE). NMIMS offers Economics courses which include core subjects as well as subjects like Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, IT, etc.

Both the universities offer decent placement. Top recruiters at Ashoka University are 4 MC, Kenzie Banks, and other social sectors and the average package offered was around 6-7 LPA. In NMIMS 77% of the BSc Economics students got placement from 2016-19 batch with an average package of 4.6 LPA. Top recruiters in NMIMS are Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, etc. Ashoka University also offers good internship facilities and summer exchange programs.

Compared to NMIMS, Ashoka University facilities are much better. Most of the faculties of Ashoka University are alumni of Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, etc. The course fees for Economics for the first year at NMIMS is Rs 2.75 lakhs while at Ashoka University the course fee is Rs 8.18 Lakhs. Both the universities provide scholarship facilities to meritorious students and those who need financial aid.

Both Narsee Monjee (NMIMS) and Ashoka University offer decent Economics programs which makes it difficult to pick one university over the other. So, choose according to your convenience.

Which university do you recommend for liberal arts the established Ashoka University or the new Krea University and why?

SS
Shyam Singh Posted On : October 25th, 2021
studied B.Sc. Computer Science, Ashoka University (2023)

Ashoka University is established in a better manner with its campus, facilities, and members of faculty. Here are some of the facts about both Ashoka and Krea.

  • The hostel, library, students, and, most importantly, the great instructors comprise Ashoka.
  • Particularly the history and literary departments of the University have many great facilities to offer to the students. However, Krea follows a similar pattern for the departments of liberal arts.
  • The current hostels and classrooms of the university are excellent.
  • Some of my friends were in the first batch of the university and their experience was pretty good.
  • The members of the faculty and administrators hired thus far are good.

I would suggest that you should take into account the location of both these universities before making your decision.

For BA Economics honours LSR will be a better option as compared to Ashoka University. Given below are the reasons why.

  1. Lady Shri Ram (LSR) is one of the most reputed colleges in Delhi and it also has an enviable alumni base. The focus of Delhi University’s system is a lot more on the undergraduate programs. The professors sincerely dedicate a minimum of 35 hours for teaching.

At Ashoka University the course fee is 8.85 lakhs for the first year for BA Economics (Hons.) degree.

  3. LSR will provide you with a strong and ambitious peer group as the students of LSR Economics students aim for Yale and Harvard universities after their graduation.

  4. The placement rate and record of LSR is better than Ashoka University. The students at LSR get placed with placement packages ranging between 5-15 LPA.
