I have a few friends from DDU Nadiad and according to them, the placement scenario for EC is great. As an Electrical Engineer, you have opportunities to work in various fields. If you are interested in IT, you can join Infosys, TCS, Igate Pattni, Tech Mahindra, Cybage, and other such companies.

If you want to join core companies then you will have the option to join Sibridge, EInfochips, Volancyc, Matrix solutions, KHS, Idea, Masibus, Airtel, etc.

According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at the institute is 4-5 LPA.

What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad?

DP
Davesh Patel Posted On : July 13th, 2021
B.Tech Civil Engineering, Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad (2017)

My brother went to Dharmsinh Desai University. Here are some tips which may be helpful, according to him.

  • The sessional examinations can seem a bit hectic at first, but after the first semester, you will get used to it.
  • Since the institute focuses exclusively on academics, you get few opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities.
  • Attendance is not that big a deal. For labs, you must have an attendance of 80% but for regular classes, 50% will work.
  • Try to clear Engineering Graphics in your first attempt. It will be taken up by the Mechanical department. Which is one of the toughest branches.
  • Try and perform well at the C Programming (since it would be your subject in both your first and second year) if you belong to the CS/IC/IT/EC department.
  • You would have no proper college life to experience at the campus. Most of your time would go into studies.
  • Work so hard, so that you do not fail in any particular subject. You would end up suffering in the next semester that follows and eventually, you would ruin the whole year.

Hope this helps.

Which option is better between mechanical engineering at IET, Ahmedabad University and IT at DDU?

SR
Sheekha Singh Rajput Posted On : July 1st, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad (2019)

The decision depends upon your area of interest.

Talking about IET, it is one of the best colleges and mainly focuses on project-based learning and you will get projects for every subject. Also, the faculty is very experienced and highly qualified. Most of them are from foreign universities. In mechanical there are best faculties and labs.

DDU is a government Institute. IT field of DDU as I have heard is good and has good faculties.

If you love coding and algorithms you should opt for it, or if you love moving things and analyzing them you should opt for IET. Hope this helps you in making the decision.

What should I do? I am confused on where I should take admission in Gujrat. Should I choose Nirma University, L.D. College or Dharmsinh Desai University? Which branch, CE or IT?

DR
Deboleena Roy Posted On : January 20th, 2021
Computer Engineering from Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad (2020)

Among the above institutes, an aid seat of Dharmsinh Desai University in CE would be the best option.

The following table gives the order of preference that a candidate should choose among the list of selected institutes.

Preference

Institute

Department

1

Dharmsinh Desai University

CE (aid seat)

2

Nirma University

CSE

3

Dharmsinh Desai University

CE (self-financed)

4

Dharmsinh Desai University

IT

5

L.D. College

CE or IT

Highlights supporting the above order of preference are discussed below.

  • CE is preferred over IT because CE (or CSE) contains more subjects, especially hardware and electronics papers. Also, placements in CE are better than IT, in most institutes.
  • Dharmsinh Desai University has a better faculty and teaching curriculum than Nirma University. A DIA (aid seat) in DDU has minimal fees too, so it is advised to choose first.
  • If you want to go for future studies in India or abroad, DDU and LD would be the better option.
  • In terms of placement and exposure, NIRMA leads in most cases among the above three. So, if you are just interested in placement, NIRMA is the better choice.

Overall Dharmsinh Desai University has the maximum advantages.
