Congratulations on your admission to our prestigious institution. If you're aspiring to switch to your preferred branch, then you need to follow a few steps. They are as follows
Effort and Excellence: All you need to do initially is put in your best effort during your 1st semester. Aim for a score of 80 or higher.
Branch Upgrade Application: When the time comes, usually after your 2nd-semester exams, the university will release branch change application forms. It's a straightforward process. Simply fill out the form and submit it to your college administration
Publishing the list of eligible candidates: After you've submitted your application, take a breath, and wait for a while, usually about a week. During this time, the university will publish a list of students who applied for branch upgrades. Make sure to check if your name is on that list.
The Transformation: Shortly after, you'll receive another list, which will contain information about whose branch upgrades have been approved. This is the moment you've been working hard for.
Meeting the Dean: Once you see your name on the list, it's time to visit the dean of your college. They will guide you through the remaining formalities and ensure your smooth transition to your dream branch.
In conclusion, branch sliding is all about your dedication and hard work. You have to gain the ability to achieve that 80+ score in your 1st semester and make that branch sliding a reality.
Yes, you can do so. But you can only do that once you are in your 2nd year by the procedure known as the migration process. In this, you can change your college and shift too.
Migration from one college to another does take place too. You have to score really well for the same. The information regarding inter-college migration can be found on the official website.
MAIT and MSIT both are well-known colleges. Both of the colleges have good placements, faculties, and the right exposure for the students. However, it all comes down to you. If the subject is your preference then you should go for CSE because CSE is more preferable to IT. If placement and package are your preference then you should join MAIT since it is way better than MSIT in every way possible.
Here’s a brief comparison of the two institutes.

MAIT has better recognition than MSIT. More companies visit MAIT and recruit students with packages more than an MSIT student receives. CSE and IT branches have no major difference in curriculum and career choices are also almost the same so therefore the finalization comes down to colleges performance and status in which MAIT leads the way.
According to one of my friends at VIPS, it is much better than Maharaja Surajmal. They both are affiliated with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). So essentially, the core study structure will be more or less similar at both institutes. But VIPS is known to have a better faculty, infrastructure, and placements.
Your first year at VIPS will go like a breeze with the smooth conduct of academics as well as extra-curricular activities.

MSIT is definitely better than BPIT when it comes to computer science engineering. BPIT is not that bad but not as good when compared to MSIT.
Placements at BPIT are getting better each year but MSIT is still leading. The table below should provide you with a better perspective on the same:

Overall, there isn’t much difference between the two colleges. If you are planning to pursue your post-graduate studies, the college will probably not matter but your studies definitely will. You should also take into account the distance you might have to travel every day which could play a major role.
My suggestion to you would be to write down the pros and cons of both the colleges and see which matters more. Is it the college name or the college stream?
75% attendance regarded as overall or as per each subject is not compulsory for MSIT. One of my cousins has attended MSIT and he says many people pass the exams with 10% of attendance and that too getting above-average internal marks.
Yes, your guardian may get a call from the institute for having less than 40% attendance, but if they know that you are studying for the reattempt and not bunking lectures, you should have no problem.
I would like to suggest that you balance your aggregate in between 40-50%, be in the good books of your teachers and lab attendants as your practical marks depend a lot on your lab attendance.
Sometimes, you can play the proxy role but don’t fall into the habit of one.
Maharaja Surajmal Institute is recognized by AICTE, UGC, NCTE, and has been accredited grade ‘A’ by NAAC. The college has been ranked 13th for BBA by India Today Rankings 2019.
Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Noida is a deemed university and has been accredited grade ‘A’ by the NAAC. BBA at the college is ranked 18th by Times 2019 Rankings.
Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune is ranked 9th by India Today 2019 Rankings. The college offers a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) as a three-year course. The fees for the course are 9.10 lakhs for the full period.
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies is a private university and offers Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) as a three-year course.
Admission Procedure
MSI & MAIMS:
SCMS Noida & Pune:
Placements
All four colleges have been ranked among the top private BBA institutes in India, with SCMS Pune and MSI being ranked highest among the four. The two IP colleges offer their courses at a lower fees, while the Symbiosis colleges provide better infrastructure facilities. Symbiosis Pune is a clear winner among the four, while MSI and Symbiosis Noida would be placed second and MAIMS comes in last. However, a preference among the four depends upon the importance of each parameter for the student.
I have a friend who is an alumnus of MSIT and here’s what he had to say about this.
Faculty: There is a significant decline in terms of management and teaching. The faculty members are mostly doctorate students and they are pursuing their studies as well as teaching, so it is fair to say that they teach you with no sense of belonging.
Infrastructure: Most of the campuses are growing old and there is hardly any maintenance done. They started upgrading a few years back but the development is very slow. Labs are not equipped with the necessary equipment.
Placements: MSIT has a good placement record. There is every likelihood that the prospects for placement may dry in the future years, as the quality of education stays stagnant. The average CTC offered has remained the same since 2004. Here are the recent placement highlights.
Average CTC |
3.6 LPA |
Highest CTC |
47 LPA |
So, according to my friend, unless some drastic change happens, it is less likely that things at MSIT will improve in near future.
It is difficult to say if Maharaja Surajmal Institute is any better than VIPS for pursuing BCA as both are not very good institutes. Both are affiliated with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) so the curriculum followed is almost similar.
As far as faculty goes, both the institutes are equally bad. For VIPS, the faculty, as well as the administration, is so bad that on average the attendance for any class would be around 50%. Class bunks are pretty common and neither the faculty nor the administration cares about it.
Entrepreneurship is a non-existent word in the directory of both colleges. Startups do not get the required attention or importance which they can say proudly. As far as placements, it is also pretty bad in both the colleges and almost similar.
There are only two reasons for choosing VIPS over MSI –
Apart from that, there are no real reasons or arguments in favor of either them being superior over the other.
Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (MSIT) is a leading engineering college in Delhi, India. The institute has a dedicated placement cell that facilitates the placement of its students in top companies across various industries. Some of the top recruiters at MSIT include:
These are just a few of the many companies that have recruited students from MSIT in the past. The institute has a good track record of placement, with many students getting multiple job offers. The placement cell also provides training and career counseling to the students to help them prepare for the recruitment process and get placed in their dream companies.
