Tezpur University Participates in “India’s Techade: Chips for Viksit Bharat” Program

New Delhi: Tezpur University actively participated in the ‘India’s Techade: Chips for Viksit Bharat’ program to launch three semiconductor facilities in India. Prof Shambhu Nath Singh, the Vice Chancellor, along with Deans, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Finance Officer, students, faculty, and staff, attended this significant event in the nation's technological advancement.

The Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University attended the event at the University's Council Hall, while various departments organised it at the departmental level. The School of Engineering held the event at the Dean’s Gallery for students and faculty.

Prof Partha Pratim Sahu, Dean of the School of Engineering, highlighted that establishing semiconductor facilities is anticipated to bring extensive economic benefits, such as job creation, investment influx, and manufacturing sector expansion, providing opportunities for start-ups. A total of 1853 students and TU employees participated in the event.

Tezpur University Free Studentship Awards

Tezpur University is inviting applications for free studentship awards. Interested students from the BPL category, admitted in the Spring Semester 2024, can apply in the prescribed format. The selection process will adhere to the revised guidelines of free studentship 2022-23, with the deadline set for April 16, 2024.

The allocation of free studentships, initially limited to one student per program, will be determined based on merit positions in the Autumn Semester 2023 (CGPA basis), potentially subject to increase. Applicants must rank within the top 60 per cent of their respective class.

Candidates must submit the completed application along with their Ration Card and original BPL documents to the Controller of Examinations through their respective Heads of Departments.

A committee will shortlist applications to select eligible candidates for free studentship. Successful candidates will only need to pay hostel and medical insurance fees. However, students awarded free studentships in the previous semester may also apply for screening in the Spring Semester 2024.
