New Delhi: IIT Patna has emerged as a beacon of resilience and success in the realm of placements. From a modest 83 offers during the BTech 2012-13 placement season, the number has surged to 413 offers in the academic session of 2022-23.
During the IIT Patna Placement 2023 drive, the highest package offered stood at INR 82.05 LPA and the average package was INR 23.90 LPA. 72 students have received PPOs, bringing the total number of offers to 413.
As per the data, 13 of the 413 offers passed INR 50 LPA, while 95 were above INR 30 LPA. The placement drive attracted 162 national and international companies including Amazon, Google, and Adobe among others.

Over the years, the average annual salary offered to students has increased, reaching INR 11.12 lakh in 2017-18, INR 13.05 lakh in 2018-19, and further rising to INR 14.76 lakh in 2019-20. Unlike many institutes globally that experienced declines in both offers and average salaries, IIT Patna maintained an upward trend.
The average salary surged to INR 17.13 lakh in 2020-21 and experienced a significant boost to INR 28.86 lakh in 2021-22, despite the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic across various industries.

IIT Patna Placements Year-Wise Trends
During the academic years, the total number of BTech offers was 192 in 2017-18, which saw an increase to 210 in 2018-19 but experienced a dip to 202 in 2019-20.
Notably, this was the sole decline observed by the institute in the past five placement batches. Subsequently, the total number of offers rebounded, rising from 202 in 2019-20 to 239 in 2020-21 and undergoing a significant leap to 412 in 2021-22.

The total number of companies visiting the campus has also increased in the past years. According to the record, 88 in 2017-18 to 95 in 2018-19, 1-6 in 2019-20, 125 in 2020-21 and then jumped to 154 in 2021-22.
Companies who participated are Accenture Japan, Adani Power, Amazon Berlin, Amazon India, Amazon Luxembourg, Deloitte, Darwinbox, Flipkart, FIIT-JEE, Bajaj Auto, Bloomberg Pune, Bosch, BPCL, Capgemini, Cognizant, HCL, Gameskraft, Goldman Sach, Google (also from London and Munich), HDFC, Housing.com, ICICI Bank, Indeed and Inframart.
Additionally, offers were made by Intel, Ixigo, Oracle, Paytm, Oyorooms, Mahindra and Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, Microsoft Research, Morgan Stanley, RBL Bank, Qualcomm, Samsung (from Bengaluru and Noida), Sprinklr, Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co.
