147 students secured job offers during IIT Patna Phase 1 Placement Drive 2024, with 32 students receiving offers above INR 30 Lakhs and 20 new companies participated in the placements.

IIT Patna Phase 1 Placements 2024 Concluded, 147 Students Secure Job Offers

New Delhi: During the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna Phase 1 Placements, a total of 147 students secured job offers, including pre-placement offers. Despite market challenges, over 65 companies actively participated, providing job roles such as software engineer, digital consultant, business consultant, IT security engineer, product engineer, research engineer, electronics engineer, and analyst.

IIT Patna reported an average salary package of INR 22.23 lakhs, with a noteworthy 32 offers surpassing INR 30 lakhs and 66 offers exceeding INR 20 lakhs. 75% of placements were secured in the BTech Computer Science branch, boasting an impressive average CTC of INR 27.60 Lakhs. Diverse companies such as Atlassian, Google, Media.Net, Accenture Japan, Suntory Holdings, Niterra, Money Forward, and Sprinklr participated in the placement drive.

Among the recruiters, ZS Associates offered the highest number of jobs, followed by Tiger Analytics and Brane Enterprises. Additionally, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like CDOT and BPCL provided three and nine jobs, respectively. IIT Patna revealed that about 30 more companies are expected to take part in the subsequent phases of the placement drive.

Kripa Shankar Singh, the Training and Placement Officer at IIT Patna, highlighted the broad participation of students from diverse streams like BTech, MTech, and M.Sc in this placement season. Various sectors such as IT and software, consulting, analytics, manufacturing, automobile, banking, finance, ed-tech, e-commerce, and startups were represented by corporate entities during the recruitment process. Singh also mentioned the inclusion of ten new companies in the initial phase of placements at IIT Patna.

Looking ahead, the institute has lined up approximately 20 more companies for recruitment in the next phase of phase 1 placements. The second phase of recruitment is slated to commence in the middle of January, and the Training and Placement Cell (TPC) at IIT Patna is optimistic that this phase will yield even more encouraging results. "Students from various streams like BTech, MTech, and M.Sc are participating in this ongoing placement season. The institute has seen corporates from various sectors including IT and software, consulting and analytics, manufacturing, automobile, banking and finance, ed-tech, e-commerce, and startups participating in the current recruitment process," mentioned Kripa Shankar Singh, Training and Placement Officer, IIT Patna.
