IIT Madras Joined Hands with VyVoxel To Offer AR/VR Programming Course for Students

New Delhi: IIT Madras’s Pravartak Technologies Foundation has joined hands with VyVoxel to offer courses in Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (AR/VR) Programming, aligning with the forefront of technological advancements to assist students in shaping their careers.

According to a press release from IIT Madras, the programming course will last 60 hours and be delivered online for interested students. Those eager to enrol in the inaugural batch need to submit their applications before March 31, 2024. Notably, the number of students admitted to each batch is unrestricted.

The course curriculum encompasses fundamental topics such as 3D modelling, marker-based and markerless AR, Virtual Reality programming, interaction techniques, and their applications across diverse sectors like training, manufacturing and field service. 

Additionally, students will delve into C programming user interface design and gain exposure to real-world applications in healthcare, logistics, retail, e-commerce, branding, product launches, and architecture.

Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer at Digital Skills Academy - IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies, emphasised the importance of AR and VR with widespread adoption across hardware, software and technology domains. Shankar highlighted the need to cultivate talent pools to meet the industry's evolving demands in this growing field.

This initiative underscores IIT Madras's commitment to providing cutting-edge education and equipping students with the requisite skills to thrive in the dynamic landscape of technology-driven industries.
