IIT Indore launches BTech in Engineering Physics Course;

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore has launched a new programme, BTech in Engineering Physics. IIT Indore will begin accepting applications for the BTech in Engineering Physics degree in the 2023 academic year. Candidates should be aware that admission to the BTech in Engineering Physics will be based on the JEE Advanced 2023 scores.

Moreover, BTech in Engineering Physics is also offered by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Madras. IIT BHU offers a five-year integrated MTech programme in engineering physics field. Now, IIT Indore is also offering BTech in Engineering Physics.

IIT Indore BTech Engineering Physics Program: Course Structure & Seats

The total duration of this course is four years, divided into eight semesters. The semester 1 consists of 19 credits, and semester 2 consists of 21.5 credits. For semesters 3 and 4, the total credits are 22/25 and 21.5/24.5, respectively. 22 credits are required for graduation in semester 6, as opposed to 19.5/22.5 credits in semester 5.For semesters 7 and 8, the maximum credits are 18 and 15, respectively. Students must have completed two one-credit internships during their fourth year in order to graduate.

During Every semester, students can choose from a variety of elective classes. The optional courses in Semesters 1 and 2 are each worth one credit, as opposed to the two or three credits of elective courses in the other semesters.

Candidates seeking admission to IIT Indore BTech Engineering Physics Program 2023 can check the below-mentioned eligibility and selection criteria before applying for the program:

  • Admission to the programme will be done on the basis of marks secured in the JEE Advanced 2023 examination. 
  • Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination from any recognised state or central board of education.
