IIT Indore Creates History as 250+ MTech students appear for First-ever online Open Book Exam

In 11 years since its inception, IIT Indore has conducted the first-ever online open-book exams for its MTech students in 2020.

About 255 MTech students took the exams from their respective homes starting from Sunday, 28 June 2020 that is scheduled to end by 6 July. All these IIT Indore students have already been hired by companies. 

As a fact, NIRF 10th ranking Engineering College, IIT Indore wishes these students to take up work responsibilities sooner.

Sunil Kumar, spokesperson, IIT Indore said through an official statement that for the first time in 11 years, students of this prestigious institute have been sitting back home and answering questions to their M.Tech papers. 

As reported by him, all the students of IIT Indore had left for home in March during the coronavirus outbreak in India. Since then, the institute had been constantly holding online classes for its students. 

Meanwhile, students have already for online proctored examinations of other courses as well. As per Himanshu Rai, Director of IIT Indore, there are webcams facilitated to keep a watch on students taking online exams. 

With ever-increasing COVID-19 cases in India, a number of institutes have taken resort into alternatives to assess students. Earlier, IITs have also provided a detailed account on semester exams to be conducted online.
