IIT Bombay Placement Report 2024

The 2024 placement process at IIT Bombay is ongoing and will extend until May 2024. This year, the percentage of unplaced students has increased, with 35.8% remaining without job offers, a rise of 2.8 percentage points from the previous year.

According to a report, out of 2,209 registered students, 1,485 had secured employment, leaving 32.8% unplaced. Additionally, a substantial portion of the 380 companies participating in the placement drive were domestic, which is contrary to the typical trend of more international firms.

Post this survey, an officer from IIT Bombay’s placement cell stated that "It was a struggle to invite companies to the campus compared to last year due to the global economic meltdown."

In January 2024, official reports indicated that 85 students at IIT Bombay had received job offers with annual packages valued at INR 1 crore. However, the institute later clarified that only 22 students had received packages of this amount.
