New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay has joined hands with Smile Foundation to encourage STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning among school children and influence the next generation positively.
As a part of this collaboration, IIT Bombay and Smile Foundation have offered students an opportunity to gain knowledge about 3-D printing, aero-modelling, energy (solar lamp making), robotics and astronomy among other domains. So far, 960 children have benefitted in diverse areas.

Students are encouraged to explore various scientific and technological concepts through practical exposure, hands-on experiences and interactive learning. The initiative aims to bridge the gap in STEM education by introducing students to cutting-edge technologies and scientific concepts that go beyond traditional classroom learning.
Informing about this initiative, IIT Bombay Electrical Engineering Department’s Rajesh Zele said, “These programmes will impact the impressionable minds of our youth. The IIT-B students along with Smile Foundation are making a strong social impact, influencing the nextGen”.
This collaboration between IIT Bombay and Smile Foundation represents a shared commitment to sustainable practices and environmental awareness, teaching fundamental concepts about renewable energy sources and the need for environmentally friendly solutions.
