Dr. Thriveni H.N. is the Principal Pre-University at Ebenezer Group of Institutions. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Botany and has nearly ten years of research experience in Forest Ecology, Bioprospecting, Phyto chemistry, Endophytic fungi, Plant Biotechnology, Conservation Biology, and Plant Genetics areas working at various central Research Institutes. She has around six years of teaching experience in handling PUC and UG classes at different educational institutions. She has one year of experience working as a Master Academic reviewer in EMBIBE (e-learning platform). She has published ten research papers in reputed National and International journals and participated in fourteen International/ National conference proceedings and over 20 National/ International conferences attended and presented.

How does the curriculum of Ebenezer PU College ensure the best practice of Industry?

At Ebenezer PU College, we provide a well-planned curriculum to prevent or eliminate gaps in the learning process and ensure optimum coverage of all domains within the curriculum. Adequate time has been spent to prepare a student-centric curriculum. We keep in mind that every classroom will have a diverse blend of student achievement strengths and weaknesses. We have set a curriculum that is flexible enough to differentiate and support student’s learning. Since we know very well that there is no one-size-fits-all curriculum for all students, we focus more on developing fundamental skills and concepts and practical-based learning. We have special sessions for slow learners and have planned the curriculum to cater to the needs of personal, social, physical, cognitive, moral, psychological, and emotional development.

Being the leader of the Ebenezer Group of Institutions, I have adopted a vision that should align with the core values and ideas of our institution. I believe it encompasses the best teaching practices and most valuable learning goals. I hold myself and my team accountable, and I believe in leading with integrity and ethical decision-making. Overall, my leadership style is centered on creating a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, inclusivity, and accountability for achieving our collective goals.

Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

Ebenezer PU College supports cultural diversity, which has been adopted in admissions where students from different races are encouraged to apply and it is a policy that everyone should be treated with respect and encouraged to express their ideas, attitudes, and preferences. The scholarship facility is made available to meritorious students from poor economic backgrounds to cater to their educational needs.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

As a principal, I believe my roles and responsibilities should not only align with the vision and mission of the college but also cater to the needs of students. As a principal, my main focus should be to develop and maintain effective educational programs within the college and to promote the improvement of teaching and learning within the college. I strive to create an organization and climate that fosters student and teacher growth.

What do you think should be the institute's top priority over the next ten years?

The institute’s top priority would be to create a brand name in the educational sector through its dedicated hard work towards building young minds to become strong pillars of the future through training that is in tune with the latest developments in the subject. Along with academic drilling, we supervise the overall growth of individual students to help them stand strong on a global stage.
