Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar has announced a collaboration between BITS Pilani and the Indian Council of World Affairs, facilitating student internships at the Rajya Sabha.

New Delhi: Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar has revealed that an MoU has been inked between the Birla Institute of Technology (BITS) Pilani and the Indian Council of World Affairs, paving the way for student internships at the Rajya Sabha.

As per this agreement, students from BITS Pilani will have the opportunity to visit the Upper House as honored guests. This announcement was made during his recent visit to the campus, accompanied by Union Minister of Law Arjun Ram Meghwal, as per an official statement. 

The vice president expressed his belief that students would play a pivotal role in shaping the future of India. Highlighting the importance of not fearing failure and consistently fostering innovation, he also underlined that students hold a significant stake in democracy.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar pointed out that without ensuring justice for half of the population, society cannot progress. He praised the enactment of the Naari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam as a significant milestone, highlighting that it acknowledged women's rights and confirmed their rightful status.

He delivered these remarks while addressing students and faculty members of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani in Rajasthan

The Vice-President strongly advocated for education as the most potent and influential tool for enhancing people's lives and expediting the progress of Bharat.

Recognizing the pivotal role of students as catalysts for change and essential participants in democracy, Dhankhar encouraged them to hold their elected representatives accountable. 

He stressed that every citizen possesses the right to present petitions to Parliament, underscoring the significance of accountability and citizen engagement in the democratic system.
