I did a bit of research. I also had a few seniors over here so, I knew about it.
Course Curriculum :
Chemical engineering in TU Delft is pretty tough. It is pretty difficult to score here and we need to take a lot more courses than we typically do for an MS in US. Thesis is compulsory. we have to do 8-10 months of thesis work which is quite rigorous.
Exams :
Institute of Chemical Technology is like one of the top colleges for chemical engineering in India. So, generally they take students from my college even with a pretty low GPA because they know that we go through a very regular chemical engineering curriculum. Similarly it is for the IITs. But for other colleges, they do have a cutoff of 8 or 8.5. I am not very sure but, I don?t see students from any other college with grade less than 8. They just ask for the official transcripts of your undergraduate, 10th and 12th. I had to give GRE and TOEFL. I need 2 LoRs and wrote a really nice SoP.
Placement :
You get a lot of research opportunities. WO masters program is a research based program and HBO is an industry based masters program. For post placements, we get ? 2,600-3000 per month. Searching job in Netherlands takes time. There are no campus placements. Wehave job fares where companies come and tell about what they do and then we have to apply on our own. The top companies that recruit are Atom Chemicals, Shell, Schlumberger, DSM, etc.
Internship :
I did an internship. I looked into company portfolios and all. We get around ?500-600 for internship.
Fees :
17.666
Faculty :
The student teacher ratio is 130 is to 2. They do chalk and talk. There is slide presentation also. There used to happen cultural programs before covid. I don?t know about post covid. So, there used to have these sessions where we interact with other students or peers and make friends with Indians as well as with foreign people. The people are very friendly and straight forward.
Campus Life :
We can get into sports, music, dance, everything is there. We have proper cultural calls to do a lot of co-curricular activities. We also have a lot of celebrations. We have an Indian Association. We celebrate Diwali, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi, etc. There are proper programs like dance and music programs. We have a lot of cultural activities over here especially Indian festivals.
Hostel :
I was living off campus because in on campus there are a few places on campus. I have to pay around ?300 where I stayed, we had to take care of electricity and internet contract and water is provided them.
