Course Curriculum

6

  • The course curriculum was easy, just basic things on the known topics. While the course was easy able to complete in a year it didn’t have an in-depth view of the course. Typically, 2–3 classes are scheduled a week, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with classes lasting around 90 minutes.
  • The class sizes are small, averaging around 20–30 students, promoting interactive learning. Around 80–90% of the students in my course are from India.

Admission Experience

  • I applied to 3 universities -> SRH University, IU International University, and University of Europe. I was admitted to IU International University, the course I wanted was available with low fees and in one-year. I got offers at University of Europe and SRH University as well. Ultimately, the combination of low fee and the ability to complete the course in a shorter time at IU made it the best choice for me.
  • My main reasons for choosing IU International University is reasonable tuition costs combined with a program in one year. This was the easiest college with low fee to get in.
  • Getting German visa entry clearance proved simpler than in other nations as Germans provided straightforward visa access to students. It was easy with money.
  • I applied for October 2023 intake at IU International University. The admission process took 4 months. I started in April 2023 by submitting my application and documents.
  • The certificate was delayed so the application process was also delayed. I received the APS certificate in June 2023. I submitted the certificate and applied for the visa. I got the visa in September and landed in Berlin by October.

Faculty

6

  • My course had a student to faculty ratio of 10 – 20 : 1 . With that professors where able to address personal concerns. They combined basic information and practical learning.
  • There was no support for placement from faculty they sometimes provide access to professional connections. Professor reza was good he combined realistic case studies, gave fostering critical thinking skills.

Campus Life

6

  • There were some activities, events, fests for new joiners. But I didn’t participate in any events. They had summer parties, welcoming parties etc. IU has two campus one in berlin and another one in Bonn.
  • Berlin is not good. They don’t arrange parties often but students arrange small house parties and enjoy that. The berlin campus doesn’t have much facilities, just classrooms.

Part Time Jobs

  • At IU International University, I did not come across any opportunities for positions like Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), or Departmental Assistant (DA), and I was not aware of those roles being offered.
  • However, there are still several on-campus job opportunities available, such as roles in the university café, administration, and library assistant positions. These jobs usually pay around €12–€14 per hour. Students are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during the semester and full-time during breaks.
  • The majority of Indian students at IU International University work at restaurant or cafe employment and retail or warehouse positions. Hourly pay ranges from €12–€15. Its really hard to get part time jobs without basic proficiency in German.
  • The process for applying jobs are make some CV with odd job experience apply on the career website. Give CV’s to café, restaurant they’ll call back if vacancy is available.

Placement

6

  • There is no scope for people who don’t know German. It will be very difficult to get a job.
  • The chances of landing a job within 6 months without knowing German is 0. A fresher can expect 45k once he graduates. He has to apply through linkedIn, career websites, indeed, stepstone.de etc.
  • My batchmates had worst experience in finding a job without language no one got a job they went back to India. Major companies don’t hire graduates veryone accepts some form of experience.

Accommodation

Off Campus
6

  • I got my accommodation through housinganywhere just searched for nice private room and got the apartment paid around 750 euro monthly, all facilities included, There was no challenge.
  • I would recommend students to use housinganywhere. My place was near to university it was 20 minutes ride. I didn’t interact with indian students so I don’t know popular locations.

Exams

  • There was no exam, It was very simple submitted my bachelor degree and other documents proof of funds etc. Everything was communicated through mail there was no complex process.
  • Student faculty will ask for the set of documents, I didn’t have any interview they checked my documents and gave me an offer letter for admission. Its very easy to get admission as long as you meet the requirements.

Fees

  • The tuition fee for my one-year program was around €8,000, which I paid in full. Additionally, there were administration fees of approximately €1000 and other minor charges for transportation , bringing the total to around €9,500 for the entire course.
  • As for monthly expenses in Germany, I estimate €600-€700 for rent (depending on the type of accommodation), €250-€400 for food, €50-€100 for transportation, and €300-€550 for personal expenses, totaling around €1000-€1,550 per month.

Scholarship

  • Yes, IU International University offers a variety of scholarships, including merit-based and need-based scholarships. Although I did not receive one, some of my batchmates did, with awards ranging from €500 to €2,000 off from overall payment.
  • Around 20-30% of students typically receive scholarships each year. Scholarships are often based on factors like academic performance, financial need, and early enrollment.
