Course Curriculum

10

  • The curriculum was moderately hard in general. It was mix of theory and practical case studies. Positive Aspects:
  • Diverse Student Body: The international student population enriched the learning experience with diverse perspectives and cultures.
  • Expert Faculty: The professors were highly knowledgeable and passionate, providing valuable guidance and insights.
  • Industry Connections: The strong industry partnerships facilitated internships and job opportunities.
  • Negative Aspects:
  • Demanding Course Load: The rigorous coursework often required long hours and limited free time.
  • Intense Competition: The competitive nature of the program could be stressful at times.
  • The classes are usually from 9:00 to 17:00, usually 2 lectures. Average students in one class are 60. 10 indians were a part of my batch.

Admission Experience

  • 5 universities: ESCP, ESMT Berlin, Trinity College Dublin, Skema School of Business. I received acceptance from ESMT Berlin and Skema Business School. I was waitlisted on ESCP and was rejected from Trinity College Dublin (as I was late for application submission). I was waitlisted on ESCP as the competition was high and candidates whom I was competing against had way more experience.
  • Good reputation and ranking, located in the heart of Berlin, has access to startups and good networking opportunities through diverse events, exchange programmes, and curriculum. I applied, had an interview call and then received acceptance with a scholarship. There is no GRE/GMAT compulsion, though having a good score helps. If you have schooling/university in English, you can get the IELTS test waived. The admissions experience was very smooth; I had support from the university every step of the way, from accommodation to insurance recommendations.
  • 2019 Intake | My unique background and profile, including studies, internships, and extracurricular activities, were key factors in my successful application. The entire admission process, from initial application submission to final acceptance, spanned approximately three months. I applied in september and got acceptance in december in 2018. The course started in 2019.

Faculty

10

  • Faculty-to-student ratio is 1:60. The professor ensures good student attention; hence, the ratio works well. Teaching methodically was more industry-led. Yes, a course along with internship experience is sufficient to get a job.
  • Faculty and alumni support the application program by giving references. Professor Olaf was really great, as he used nice interactive examples.

Campus Life

10

  • We have one campus in Berlin. We have a library, study rooms, cafeteria, and sports such as table tennis and football (we have a college team) highly played in free time. Students from specific ethnicities can organise festivals and invite other students to have a joint celebration. We have nice social clubs (net impact) and other clubs to push for extracurricular activities.

Part Time Jobs

  • We have 2 TAs. I have no idea about their salary. There were no students who worked on campus- hence no wage scale available. In general, all places have to pay more than the defined minimum pay by the government and usually work from around 35 to 40 hours per week. If your skillset fits the hiring team, I can think of marketing as one aspect- then hiring should not be so tough as they rely on your credibility.
  • Most indian students take up working student and internship positions. Hourly wage should be 12 euros/hour and above. It was relatively to get the first internship but from then on, all other roles were easy to get. The process is to apply via Stepstone, LinkedIn, and Xing. There are usually 2-3 rounds of interviews and case studies and based on that, you get a final offer.

Placement

8

  • 90% of students secured jobs in 6 months. Average salary for our batch should be around 50k (rough estimate) gross yearly. Students do networking, visit job fairs, contact companies and apply online via job portals. Students usually are content with their jobs and experience of finding one. Companies such as Zalando, DB, ALLIANZ were some of the employers for our batch.

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • I used Facebook Marketplace and Immoscout to find accommodation.
  • The monthly rent for my accommodation was around 950 euros for 2 people. This included water, electricity, and wifi charges.
  • One of the primary challenges was finding affordable accommodation in a convenient location that is closer to my university and has good connectivity in terms of public transportation.
  • Recommendations for Future Students: do good networking via LinkedIn, start applying, and make sure you have someone at the location who can visit the location to ensure you are not scammed.

Exams

  • I got 108/120 score on IELTS. Exams like GRE and GMAT help to support your application as it shows credibility. You need statement of purpose, atleast 2 letter of recommendation and up to date CV which highlights your education, extra curricular activities and awards so they can assess the quality of your application in comparison to other candidates that applied.

Fees

  • 25000 euros to be paid in 4 installments semester-wise, with 4000 euros as the cost to reserve your place. You can get reduced fees through early bird scholarships and merit-based scholarships. Monthly expenses were around 700 euros—450 euros rent, 100 euros groceries, 40 euros insurance (private), 80 euros public transport, and 30 euros miscellaneous costs.

Scholarship

  • You can get reduced fees through early bird scholarship and merit based scholarships. I got 3000 euros scholarship based on my profile. Some of my batchmates also received scholarships. My rough estimate would be around 25- 30% students receive scholarships. Typical award would range from 1500-2000 euros, depending on the profile and uniqueness of the candidate.
