TOEFL score report is accepted by more than 12,500 institutions in over 160 countries. TOEFL score checking can be done through your ETS account, and you can access your personalized scoring feedback and insights. Your scores will be available after 4 to 8 days of your exam in your ETS account. From November 13, 2023, ETS has updated the score reporting system. You will get performance insights and personalized feedback on the enhanced TOEFL score report. Your Official score report is valid for 2 years after the exam date. You don't have to pay extra TOEFL score report costs, but sending additional score reports to universities requires an extra fee.
TOEFL Essentials Score Report
The overall TOEFL essential score report ranges on a 1 to 12 scale. Each section of TOEFL essential score ranges on a 1-12 scale and is accepted by almost 90% of the institutions and programs. Achieving an overall TOEFL score of 7.5 out of 12 is considered the best score. TOEFL essential score report is valid for 2 years after your exam date. How Can I Get my TOEFL Score Report?
The TOEFL results will be out within 6 days of taking the exam. The candidates will be notified at their registered email accounts about the release of the TOEFL report. You will be able to view the TOEFL score report where the individual section scores will be displayed along with the total overall score. The PDF format will be available within 8 days for download.
TOEFL Score Validity
TOEFL scores are valid for 2 years after the test date. You need to send the additional score report to universities or organizations within this valid time frame. You can check TOEFL score validity score simply by logging in to your ETS account. For instance, if the candidate is giving the exam on 2nd May 2023 the score will be valid till 2nd May 2025.

The above table demonstrates how the scaled ranges work and what they denote. It can be ascertained that an advanced level reading means the person has a proper flair in that particular skill. Universities demand an overall TOEFL score report sample in their admission guideline but there are certain universities that demand individual section scores too and for that, the candidate needs to abide by the guideline by scoring high enough to secure admission.

Sending your TOEFL Score Report
The candidate can select up to 4 agencies/institutes before the test as the amount is included in the TOEFL registration charges itself. The addition and deduction of the universities can be accessed through the ETS account. The delivery of the TOEFL score report from the TOEFL exam centers depends on how the recipients receive the score.

After the TOEFL Test
During the two years of TOEFL score validity, the candidate is also allowed to order additional score reports by paying an extra US$20 per university/institution. The additional TOEFL score report can be acquired through:
- Through ETS account: The TOEFL score report will be delivered within 3 – 5 business days by clicking on the ‘Send Additional Score Reports’;
- By Fax: The candidate needs to fill out the ‘Additional Score Report’ PDF form on the official website. Then fill out the form along with the appointment number, then adding the card details to the concerned number. The TOEFL score report will be sent to the institute within 10 business days.
- By Mail: In the same manner, fill out the details in the additional score report form and mail it along with the payment to the concerned address.
TOEFL Score Report Review
The candidate can request a review only of the writing and/or speaking sections of the test within 30 days of the test. It is to be noted, the additional payment to be made for each section’s review is US$80. So, if the appeal is for the review of both sections then the amount would be US$160.
Certain points to be noted during the review:
- Requests for the TOEFL score report review can be made only once.
- If the candidate wants both of their sections to be reviewed, namely, writing and speaking then the request has to be made at the same time and not separately.
- After the review, the new scores will become the official scores and the previous ones will be overlooked.
- If the candidate has already sent across the scores to their selected universities/institutes then the scores cannot be reviewed.
