The balanced chemical reaction of zinc with sulphuric acid and
NaOH are
Zn + $H_2SO_4 \, \rightarrow \, ZnSO_4 + H2(g) \uparrow$
$ Zn + 2NaOH + 2H_2O \rightarrow Na_2[Zn(OH)_4] + H_2 (g) \uparrow$
Since, one mole of$ H_2(g)$ is produced per mole of zinc with both
sulphuric acid and NaOH respectively, hydrogen gas is produced in
the molar ratio of 1:1 in the above reactions.
