In order to get admission in the MTech course, the candidates must appear for the Entrance Examination, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
Exam Pattern of GATE is described below:
- The pattern of this exam includes two types of questions, Multiple Choice Questions, and Multiple Select Question/ Numerical Answer Type (NAT) question.
- There are a total of three sections, they are General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Subject-based. the General Aptitude section has ten questions, five among them will carry one mark each, and the remaining five will have two marks each.
- The marking schemes are, there are two types of MCQs. The MCQs with one mark will be given 1 mark for correct answer and 1/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer, and the MCQs with 2 marks, +2 for the correct answer, and -2/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. There is no negative marking in the Numerical Aptitude test (NAT) section.
