Master in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) Pharmacognosy is a two-year post-graduate program divided into four semesters that deals with the art and science of compounding and dispensing drugs or preparing suitable dosage forms for the administration of drugs to man or animals. 

MPharm Pharmacognosy minimum eligibility is having a minimum of 60% under graduation in Bachelor in Pharmacy.

MPharm Pharmacognosy syllabus includes the Basis of Drug Action, Biotechnology, Biostatistics, Drug Metabolism, Biomaterials, and more.

M.Pharm Pharmacognosy Admission Process

To get admission in prestigious pharmacy colleges, one has to appear for entrance examinations, either national or state-based or college entrances, to apply for the course. M.Pharm Pharmacognosy Eligibility

  • The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry students or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree b. Pharmacy (10+2+4) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for the academic year 2021-22 can also apply for the course.

There are many entrance exams, national level, state level and college entrances, for admission in M. Pharm.

  • GPAT- Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test is a National Level Entrance Examination for entry into M. Pharma Program. The GPAT is a three hours Computer Based Online Test. A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy are also given based on GPAT scores.
  • NIPER JEE- This exam is conducted by any one of the 7 NIPERs in the country to different masters and PhD programs in Pharmacy. Admission in NIPER is though entrance based and then through online counselling. It is a 2-hour Computer Based Test.
  • OJEE- The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination conducts the exam for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses including M.Pharm.

Tips for M.Pharm Pharmacognosy Entrance Exams

  • There are different sections for the exams. So one has to manage and distribute their time for every section so that he/she can attempt the maximum number of questions in the given allotted time.
  • To complete the entire question paper correctly within the mentioned time limit, the aspirant has to do lots of practice and appear for mock tests for the particular exam.
  • There are many computer-based tests. The students must be familiar with the proper use of computers and have the practice to answer on a computer.

How to get admission to a good pharmacy college?

Anybody can crack more than one entrance exams with a proper schedule, time management, tricks and smart work. If one does so, they can get a seat in the best Pharmacy College in the country.

  • The very first requirement to get a good score is having thorough and deep knowledge in all the subjects that were taught in B. Pharm. Having roots clear in the concepts will help in solving tricky objective type questions.
  • Solving a maximum number of previous year question papers of that entrance exam with making the student familiar with the exam pattern and types of questions asked. 10-20% of the questions are repeated every year.
  • If one practices lots of previous years question papers, he/she will get a good idea of which chapter or topic has more marks weight-age or frequently asked in every year or alternating years.
  • Giving importance to the weak points and working on them will make the student more confident about appearing in the exam.
  • Also, to get a college of choice, the aspirant must start preparing at least one year before appearing for the exam.

Faculty:

The student teacher relationship is very good and all the teachers are very much encouraging. The teachers are highly qualified and they provide adequate knowledge to each and every student. The lab facilities are very good and the teachers teach machine handling very carefully. The teachers are very friendly. Wifi is available but only for the final year students. Two sessional examinations are organised in each semester. Each sessional exam contains 25 marks and the semester contains 75 marks, total is 100 marks. Almost 99% students are able to clear all exams.

Campus Life:

One departmental fresher and one University fresher is organised. The annual festival is also held in the month of December. Teachers day, Independence day is celebrated. The biswakarma puja and the Saraswat puja is also celebrated by the together efforts of students and teachers. Every classroom is well decorated and an individual projector is set in each classroom. Adequate books and journals are available in the library. Annual sports competition is held here. The sports competition including cricket, football, badminton, chess, kabadi and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I'm interested in masters I have opted this M.pharmacy course. The relationship between faculty and students is very healthy and moreover they immense encouragement. Most of the faculty are with Ph.D and Master degrees. Term.ecams will be conducted for every 3 months,it is not that difficult to pass.if we are clear with the concept,we can easily pass.

Campus Life:

Annual fest will be conducted in the months of Feb-March every year. All kinds of books and journals related to subject are available in the library.

I Qualified GPAT and then attended counseling on the basis of merit. On the basis of merit you are given streams like Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry , Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy. While one can take admission in Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality assurance as well.

Placement Experience:

Placements rate is good. Placement cell of the college is doing great. Many students are placed in various big firms . And stipend is provided by Aicte for GPAT qualified students of M.Pharmacy and PhD students get stipend according to entrance they have qualified .
