Ques. I got admission (PGDM) opportunities from IIM Rohtak and IIM Udaipur! Should one go or sit for CAT again this year? Any suggestions?

● Top Answer By Sidhant Unnithan on 10 Jan 23

Ans. Sitting for CAT again is honestly not a very easy decision. So I will suggest you go for IIM Rohtak itself. This decision will be beneficial under the following circumstances  If your past academic performance is not really good. This is because the older IIMs lay emphasis on past academics too much which in reality cannot be changed. So why risk a year when the chances are nearly zero? If you already have 2 or more years of experience, it’s better you don’t forgo the opportunity. If you are interested in domains like Finance or Marketing, it’s better to join now. This is because working too much in the IT field limits your chances of getting into Finance and Marketing. So based on these points you can come up with a decision that’s best for you. Just remember that despite being new, IIM Rohtak belongs to the IIM family which in itself is a brand.Read more

Ques. What are the career prospects after doing M.Com from IGNOU? Will I be eligible for lecturership after it?

● Top Answer By Arpita Goyal on 03 Nov 22

Ans. After earning your Mcom from Ignou, you can pursue a career as a lecturer. However, you must also pass the NET exam to be eligible for a lectureship. Whether you get your M.com from a distance learning institute like IGNOU or a traditional college makes no difference. You are still eligible to take NET. State-level exams are an alternative to the NET. Every state has its own set of exams. Passing a state exam qualifies you for lectureships only in that state. To be eligible to become a lecturer anywhere in the country, you must give the NET. Most people would instead pass state-level exams and work as a lecturer in their state. They apply for NET after gaining experience in their field.Read more

Ques. Is IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) AICTE approved for an M.Com?

● Top Answer By Adil Iqbal on 01 Nov 22

Ans. The following information will clear all your doubts regarding IGNOU being AICTE approved: IGNOU is not only a central university but also a nodal body to regulate distance education in India. IGNOU can commence any course, even technical courses without or with approval of AICTE since it has the right to do so as per its constitution. IGNOU has its own SOET (school of engineering and technology) duly approved by HRD and UGC. Their degrees and diplomas are equivalent to any other technical system in India. AICTE never recognizes any degree/diploma in distance courses and hence it should be clearly understood for any institution. Nonetheless, IGNOU courses are themselves valid. However, through a joint resolution of DEC(IGNOU) and AICTE, IGNOU is no longer offering any technical degree/diploma and neither recognizes other universities in DEC mode.Read more

Ques. Can i take admission for m.com in department of commerce without entrance exam or in dse in 2024

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 12 Dec 23

Ans. The Department of Commerce (DU) intakes students for its MCom. course on the basis of CUET(PG) from academic year 2023-24 onwards. To get an admission, you’ll have to fulfill the eligibility criteria, and give the CUET (PG) for MCom. You can visit the official website of CUET for the detailed exam syllabus.  On the other hand, the Delhi School of Economics does not offer an MCom. degree. Ques. Is the External Master of commerce from Saurashtra University recognized by ECA-WES for Canada or Australia?

● Top Answer By Shruti Das on 01 Oct 21

Ans. The checklist of WES (World Education Services) is very strict and they give importance to the recognition of the institution more than the programs offered there.  Here are some of the things which will be checked when your documents will reach them. Validation of your institution Your institute must be present in authoritative sources such as on the website of the Ministry of Education or in the accrediting body of the country in question.  Because the non-university institutions are not generally included in major reference publications.  To get some information published by the education authorities of the country, one has to dig deeper to verify them. Recognition of institution There are certain laws and regulations by the government for the establishment of educational institutions.  It is essential for the institution to be familiar with all the rules and also follow them accordingly.  The government institutions are generally recognized but for the private institutions, it varies depending upon the country.  Education Chronology   The chronology of a student's educational background must be compatible with the age of that particular student.  For example, the student must have completed his/her high school before applying for an undergraduate program and should have completed his/her bachelor's before applying for a graduate program.  Hence, these are some of the points which will be checked thoroughly and if all these things are clear then the institute will be recognised by WES for Canada or Australia. Read more

Ques. How do I prepare for the M com entrance exam in DU to ensure admission in preferred college?

● Top Answer By Aarzoo Shah on 06 Oct 22

Ans. You can enroll in the course by taking an entrance exam. The other route is based on graduation marks. If you worked hard in your B. Com(H), this should be a piece of cake. The paper is divided into five sections:  Economics Management Statistics Accounting General Affairs Below are the few things that are required to be done: Examine the previous year's question papers . You can obtain them from the DSE Photocopy Shop. Classify the topics that appear frequently in the entrance examination. Search for those topics on the internet.  Purchase Pratyogita Darpan as well.  You can begin a meditation routine to avoid being distracted by unnecessary thoughts on the day of the exam, as the paper requires concentration and a clear mind. Please bring a water bottle, fruit juice, or whatever you prefer. Reference books: Arihant, R. Gupta, B.
