The faculty are very cooperating and well mannered they treat everyone equally and if I talk about the course structure dn then our course is women's studies or gender studies it basically talk about equality how women are being being subordinated from very beginning so to remove those obstacles we find various findings initiatives for the well being of the society. The campus is very safe and fruitful for all . We literally enjoyed roaming around the campus during our break . The environment is really calming and suitable for all. The course is good. The syllabus is worth studying. Cocurricular activities are also wide. Teachers show a great deal of support. Encourages us for all the good stuffs. Seminars, talk sessions are organised which are highly enlightening.

It is a good institution. The faculty was good. Also, I always wanted to do a course in Women's Studies. The faculty organises various co curricular activities too to not make the course monotonous. We have mentor system too.

As we all know that Gauhati university is the oldest educational institution among north east india, you must also have to know that it is a all rounder university, means it has holding elections, lots of cultural programs, sports events, film festival, literally festival and you know the area of this university is very big and so that it has organized all the programs very nicely.

Placement Experience:

I could not correctly say that is it possible or not after completion of the course immediately we get jobs or not. Because it is a social science subject, not a technical line. In this lockdown period many of us doing internship,there are NGO's which offering us internship opportunity aswell. We have a good connection with our alumni groups.

I am choosing this subject of women's studies as my discipline because of i want to become more familiar with the women's long term movement for achieving equal opportunity in every sector, equal rights. Faculties are also very much encouraged us. There are also 8 faculties including guest faculty and contractual teacher.

Placement Experience:

Placement rate is overall nice. Many of our alumni also getting jobs. Some of them are doing research. Different companies, NGO's visited and offer jobs. Department of women's studies is ovarall good, it has doing alumni meet every year. There are a departmental megazin, departmental library also in there.

the discipline of women's studies in overall india itself started after 1980's so from that point of view it is a very new course and it's very much updated. the syllabus of women's studies is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary in nature. no our course is not having any industrial exposure. faculties are also very good; the name of the HOD is Polly Vocquline. their teaching methods are very well.

there are lots of cultural programme in the university have been helding such as youth festival, versity week, international seminar and all the programmes are organized very smoothly, there are NSS cell in the university, ECO Club, canteens, labs, yoga programmes and all of these programmes are very encourging and in the versity week all the departments are co operate very nicely.

Campus life is very nice, there is sufficient laboratory facilities, good wi-fi conditions in all the campus, library one is central and another one is state library. Different cultural programmes, literally festival, versity week, youth fest, conference, seminar, workshops also done.

The curriculum is very up-to-date.The curriculum includes lectures,assignments,field work, research etc.The syllabus is in sync with UGC NET syllabus.Students performance is very good in this department.The faculties are also highly experienced and qualified.

The reputation of the universe is very good.It is NAAC A credited university.It is the oldest university in North East India.The location of the universe is also very good as it is adjacent to the airport and National Highway.

College Events:

The campus itself created an amazing environment, the architecture of buildings in the campus and in front of every building there are a statue of people related with our culture, literature or with something great works. There are so many Hall's where every facilities are available to organize program. Varsity week is one of the big festival organized in the campus, in varsity week every department of university takes part in various competition.

Remarks:

Gauhati University is one of the best University in the North East India. It also located in my own city therefore I choose to study here and not to go for any other university. This university always tries to provide every possible facilities to students. Many college and Institute are working under the university. Gauhati university itself providing a great service in the education system of Assam.

College Events:

The extra curriculum is not given importance whole through out the year only in the versity week the hostel students participate, the non hostelers donot get chance to enjoy the extracurriculum, music and other cultural plateforms are not well maintained

Campus Life:

Campus don't feel safe at night because of less number of street light, too many vehicle are allowed inside the campus which is not safe, Food canteen don't have proper hygiene, sports and cultural practices are on only during versity week

Remarks:

My course was only available in this University. And I was not ready to move outside alone, even my parents weren't agreed to send me outside the city. Being possesive, that I have not stayed alone anywhere. So this was the only opt.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I rightly chose the course, no regret. And yes we has a friendly faculty and the syllabus is yes to be honest much up to dated. But we dint have much excursion or such exposure. Though the department take part in many activities.

And about choosing this university, I chose this because it is a good university and I always wanted to study in this university from beginning.

Our syllabus changes with time. And about the faculties, they are very supportive and always encourage us. They always provide us information regarding academics as well as different activities, such as taking part in singing, dancing competitions.
