The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is a philanthropic establishment, founded in 1931 committed to research and training in the field of gemology and the adornments expressions and situated in Carlsbad, California.

The institute is headquartered in Carlsbad, California, and operates out of 13 countries, with 11 campuses, 9 laboratories, and 4 research centers worldwide. Two of its branches are situated in India at Surat and Mumbai.

GIA offers four Diploma Programs and six Certificate Programs for different durations. To be eligible for the same, the candidates must possess a 10+2 qualification and must be over 18 years of age.

GIA Surat Diploma Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be at any rate 18 years old and have a higher school endorsement (H.S.C)/10+2 or comparable to be conceded into GIA courses and projects. All classes are instructed in English. Capability in the English language is required.

Ans. GIA Carlsbad is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). GIA New York is accredited by the ACCSC as a branch of GIA Carlsbad. ACCSC’s accreditation is institutional in nature and includes GIA on-campus education only. GIA’s Distance Education courses are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education Accrediting Council (DEAC). I had applied by the online mode to this college as it is a very simple process. Thereafter I was asked to upload my documents and everything that is to be included. I had to submit them a physical examination letter so that I do not suffer from any major disease. After all my documents were verified I was called for the counselling session and later on granted admission.
