Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Cheyyur, Tamil Nadu was established in 1967. In 2001, the NAAC accredited the college with Three Stars, and in 2007 the college was re-accredited with grade ‘B+’. In the beginning, the college was affiliated to Madras University but from the year 2002, the college is affiliated with Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore.
The college works under the rules of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, and the functioning is controlled by the Directorate of Collegiate Education, Higher Education Department, Chennai.
