Academic Qualification

  • Degree Requirement: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in electrical engineering, computer engineering, engineering science, or a related area.
  • GPA Requirement:
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.33 (B) or a GPA of 3.33/4.33 (B+) in the last 60 units of undergraduate coursework is required.
    • Graduate-level coursework may also be considered. Individual programs may require a higher GPA.
  • Qualifying Admission:
    • For applicants with a GPA below minimum or lacking academic preparation.
    • Must complete 12–30 SFU undergraduate units within 1 year.
    • Failure to meet requirements may result in denial of admission.

English Language Requirement

  • IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0 in each section.
  • TOEFL (iBT): Score of 90, with no band less than 20 in each section.
  • Pearson Academic (PTE): Overall score of 65, with no section score less than 60.
  • Cambridge English Qualifications (C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency): Minimum score of 180.

  • CAEL: Overall score of 70, with no section less than 60.
