I chose this university because it is well known and reputed in Canada for the course I wanted to study keeping in mind the tuition fee as well
Course Curriculum :
The curriculum of the course is highly detailed and interesting. We did not need research experience for the first year. However, in upcoming years, we will need to help and conduct more research which we will get the experience to do on campus
Exams :
For my application, I did send in my results from Highschool and IELTS. I also sent in 2 letters of recommendation from the faculties that I would be taking up in university.
Placement :
The work opportunities for students is vast. There are always communities and clubs that host events with bigger companies. These networks help them get an internship or any work experience. Our university also holds events where speakers from renowned companies come and give tips.
Internship :
I have opted for an unpaid internship with the mental health facilitating website. It is called 7 cups and helps people with emotional distress. I found out about this particular company through my university's website.
Events :
The infrastructure of my university is amazing. All the buildings are nearby however you do end up walking a bit in between your classes which is great according to me. The labs, research facilities, libraries, and lecture halls are huge. Even the smaller studying rooms are very helpful. Campus life is amazing. We have a lot of clubs to be part of, especially clubs like the Hindu students association, etc makes us feel more at home and they hold a lot of events. It's extremely easy to be part of them as well.
Fees :
43000
Scholarship :
I did not reach the grade they accepted for scholarships and hence did not apply.
Faculty :
In some lectures we would have 650-800 students with just 1 professor it would make learning a bit harder as we had to stay extra focused but we did have smaller batches of 10-15 students for tutorials/ labs which made it easier
Hostel :
Yes, I am an on-campus residence. It is closer to classes, the first-year residence all have cafes inside them too. Our meal plan card works in the res cafes on diff Off-campus restaurants as well as restaurants on campus. I was in a sharing (double) room which I found better than a single room as I always had a roommate with me, it was never lonely. The fee for the residence was $8000-$9000
