What Students Say
Likes
- The main thing that I noticed is Concordia’s MACS program use highly reputed if not all programs. In addition, it’s as cheap as a college, even cheaper than some colleges on Ontario. Montreal is a student city, it’s always lively and fun.
Required Exams for Admission
Course Curriculum
The syllabus is not as updated as you’d want it to be. They still teach some outdated technologies. There are not much options of courses with different specializations in mind either. For my course, they are particularly focused on software development.
Faculty
There are many esteemed and incredible faculties on campus. I would like to particularly mention Rene Witte, he teaches AI. His classes were fun and full even in summer.
Campus Life
The downtown campus is beautiful and has all the facilities. A library, printers, wifi, cafeterias, labs, big classes. Being in downtown, it is very accessible.
Placement
All the students have been posted at a good company with good salary. There are enough job and internship opportunities. But there has been a rough patch this year due to low market.
Accommodation
The rent used to be cheap in Montreal but now it is not the case. If you are looking to share a room, you will have to pay around 500 in downtown. The suburbs have cheaper rooms though.
Exams
There are specific GPA and IELTS requirement for each program. They do not require any other test at least not for my program. It is less competitive compared to other well-known universities. IELTS - 8, GPA - 9.14. They do require CV, LOR and SOP. In CV I mentioned my grades and experience. The LOR was tailored for myself and not copy pasted from the Internet. Same with SOP, it should be personal and show your genuine interest in studying there. The university does not require any interview.
Fees
The total tuition fees for my program (45 credits) was around 34,000.
