Ashraful Islam Review at Algoma University [ALGOMAU], Sault Ste. Marie | Collegedunia

My experience in Algoma University

AI
4.0 /10

The campus is noticeably small and lacks fundamental amenities such as a library or a gym, along with other essential facilities. Moreover, the quality of teaching is subpar, necessitating the need to seek external resources like YouTube or other websites to comprehend the subject matter adequately. Additionally, there is a scarcity of professors who possess effective teaching skills.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum and academics are relevant and up-to-date, providing valuable industrial exposure and research experience.

Exams :

My scores: IELTS 6.0, Reading 6.0 Writing 5.5 Listening 6.0 Speaking 6.0 SOP

Placement :

I am a undergraduate student.

Fees :

In my programme, tuition fee is $21500 per year.

Scholarship :

President Award, $2500 per year.

Faculty :

I am uncertain about the faculty and student ratio at the institution. However, I have found the faculty members to be generally nice and friendly. Unfortunately, my experience with Sofia Silberberg, who taught my math course in the second semester, was quite negative. She exhibited rudeness and failed nearly 60% of the students in the class. Moreover, I received only a 21% total score in her course, which compelled me to retake it at an additional cost of over $2000. Second time I took this course with another professor and I was able to achieve an 85% grade.

Campus Life :

I am in the Brampton campus, it so small. There is no campus life. There is no library, no gym. They have few clubs.

Hostel :

They don’t have any dorm, students rent in local houses. For a private room it cost around $800-1000. And for sharing it cost around $450-600.
