  • Dislikes:
  • General services are hard to get ahold of, qnd you will be playing phone tag for hours or on hold. People who often answer don't usually have useful information so its best to get help from anyone on campus instead.,
  • Teachers have often been out of the field more than a couple of years, and a lot of the curriculum is old as well. Some of the lessons can come across as oppressive towards todays society.,
  • Food is so expensive on campus, and tastes really bad. If you decide to come here, just go to food basics and fortinos (by Macmaster) on tuesdays and get student discount groceries. Dont buy on campus food, its an overexpensive waste.

Course Curriculum:

This is a 3 yr program with many courses that feel like repeats each semester all honesty. Look into PLAR if you have any previous experience with the field just in case you can knock off some credits. The faculty are enough, especially since class sizes drop the further into college you are. All these classes have been "blended" with in person and online. Some people may prefer blended, I have always found it to be a lot. You spend hours in class, and never touch up on online material and still have to go home and do hours of My Canvas review on top of usual textbook readings. This wasn't helpful for me but can benefit students who like this format.

Fees:

I went through OSAP as a domestic student. For me OSAP pays my tuition for me and gives me some money for the semester to use to live and buy textbooks. They send the tuition straight to the college. Every other semester there's always a spot holding deposit of $250. OSAP does not cover this. You can pay using debit or credit online. There's lots of bursaries and awards available. Always apply each semester. There's also on campus employment that you can apply to, but is higher competition to get in. Tuition is a lot, and doesn't include textbooks. Certain courses will require lab gear or PPE or external costs. CYC requires police checks that you pay out of pocket for.

  • Less acknowledgement about the services provided by the college

Course Curriculum:

Talking about my previous semester, which was a Co-Op, it required 15 credits to pass. It provided me with a work experience of 4 months and boasted my confidence and will to learn more. At present, we have 33 students with 2 instructors in the class.

Fees:

It has been very challenging to manage my finances while living abroad and studying. My first-year fee was paid by my parents. I managed to save some of the GIC money my parents funded and worked a job to save for the rest.

Course Curriculum:

Our course curriculum and academics helped me a lot as the education focuses more on research and practicality. In our third and forth semester we will have co-op in which we will practice in person and learn a lot in person.

I the fee I paid is approximately $2000 per semester for the Educational Support Program. I'm not completely sure if there are scholarships for international students. I have received OSAP and also a $500 scholarship from my highschool graduation. This helps me with the expenses and make my college experience affordable.

It provided the exact course I wanted to take. it was close to where I live and I have heard great reviews about Mohawk. I knew some people who have taken this program before and therefore I knew it was the perfect program for me. So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed the program and the material included.

Well, GIC helps a lot in the first year as we get $650 every month. Besides this, I'm a part-time worker, by doing 20hrs per week, we cannot make much but can easily save money in the first year. This college offers scholarships but this requires a lot of volunteering experience which I didn't have had before but now I'm doing volunteering in my chemistry lab. So I would apply for a scholarship later in September. Moreover, if you are facing a problem while paying fees, the college offers deferral as well as an emergency one-time loan. I had deferral before and going to get it again but never took a loan.

I have completed my high school in India with Non-medical stream. I wanted to build up my future in the chemical field particularly in wastewater treatment. I lived in Punjab province, college for chemical engineering was not so good there. I planned to move out to a different province for studies. I used to search for different colleges to study chemistry in India as well as abroad. I came to know about Mohawk college which is the best college of applied arts and technology. I did IELTS and applied for this college Besides this, my mom has applied to Seneca college on behalf of me but luckily Mohawk college accepted my application. I paid around Rs.13 Lakh including my GIC and 1st sem fees. I'm paying more than $8000 every semester. As I have completed my one and a half years here, I can say that this much money is worth according to the study and facilities provided by the college.

Course Curriculum:

The faculty is great. The faculty to student ratio is very good with approximately one teacher to fifteen students. The teaching curriculums here are very in-depth.

Fees:

There weren't many scholarship opportunities for me as an international student but there were a few to do with athletics and knowledge/education. The fees for my program were around $10,000 and residence was around $3,000 and books and resources were around $1000. I also needed a $2000 laptop. Overall this is fairly good pricing. I hadn?t around half of this covered by scholarships

Course Curriculum:

Everyone including students and teachers is so nice and very welcoming to me and my classmates and we never felt like we are in another place. Faculty members always support me in my studies and other things I love to be with them and learned a lot from them, not in studies plus social networking, etc.

Fees:

Fees are a huge part of studies and student life because every international student is much worried about their fees as compared with studies. Getting jobs for students is a tough job and that makes international student life worse here. We are most of the time unemployed. But I did manged with my studies and never had burned anything on my mind.
