At TROY, you will learn technical skills related to nursing as well as develop the clinical reasoning skills needed to care for complex patients throughout their lifespans. Through your in-class and field experiences, you will also learn to prioritize, organize and manage time. Within our program, you'll focus on cultural competence, therapeutic communication and evidence-based nursing practices that will prepare you for the real life-or-death situations you'll encounter throughout your career.
With each new semester, TROY's School of Nursing strives to produce the best professionals the field of nursing has to offer. After receiving your BSN degree from TROY, you are prepared and eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX) to gain a license as a registered nurse. With a BSN and a valid license, the possibilities for your career are endless. You'll be free to pursue countless opportunities all over the state of Alabama and the country. These opportunities can be found in such areas as acute and long-term care hospitals, hospice and home health.
Troy University's BSN program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and also maintains a high first-time pass rate on the NCLEX. In 2013-2014, 97 percent of our students passed the ACEN. As a student within TROY's BSN program, your success is our success.
Since its founding, our nursing program has maintained and continued to cultivate a highly regarded reputation within the medical industry. Because of the top-notch training and hands-on opportunities you receive as a TROY BSN student, you and your classmates will have the opportunities to become some of the most qualified nursing professionals the field of nursing has to offer. In fact, approximately 90 percent of our nursing students have their first jobs secured before graduation.
