Salem University offers admission in more than 30 bachelor's; six associate degree programs; 19 master's programs; and one certificate course in the study areas of Biology, Nursing, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Criminal Justice and Education With an acceptance rate of 85% admission into this renowned institute of the US Education System is not highly competitive. Admissions at the university are processed on a rolling basis around the year for its fall, spring and winter academic sessions. As English language proficiency proof, an IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL iBT of 61 is acceptable for international students.

First-time student-athletes are required to submit either the SAT scores or ACT scores, no such requirement has been mentioned for international students. Students can fill the online application directly from the official website of Salem University along with paying a processing fee of 20 USD. An undergraduate scholarship and a graduate scholarship is available to students as financial aid. President's Honour Scholarship is available to students who complete the second semester with at least a 4.0 GPA. The application must be mailed within seven business days after the second-semester grades have been released on scholarships@salemu.edu.

International Student Admissions

Salem University accepts international students who apply in time and have the prescribed TOEFL/IELTS scores; a minimum GPA of 2.75-3.15; and an F1 visa. International undergraduate and graduate students must apply online and send official transcripts to the Salem University Office of Admissions directly. The application portals are the same for domestic and international undergraduate and graduate students due to the rolling admissions format. Visa Process for International Students

Students who wish to pursue a program at Salem University must have an F1 visa to study in the USA for legal academic immigration and on-campus work-study. The visa application must be made at a local consulate or embassy of the United States in the home country of a student after admission has been confirmed by Salem University and the I-20 kit has been granted. Before making an application, students have to pay the SEVIS fee, which is 350 USD, for the F1 visa. Students must then fill out and submit the I-20 form. The documents needed are as follows:

The university offers about 19 master's programs and one certificate course in Education Leadership. Other programs available are Biology, Nursing, Business Administration, Computer Science, Criminal Justice etc. MBA in Project Management program is offered as continuous enrollment, online or on-campus. Students are prepared to be Quality Assurance Managers, Project Managers, General Managers or Program Managers through this specialisation. Students need a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 for admission to the PG programs of Salem University.

There are no deadlines as such but international students must make an application at the earliest and check the individual requirements of each program before applying. Applicants must remember that while Salem University accepts International equivalents to a bachelor’s degree, the university needs to approve the degrees or their equivalent to ensure admission in graduate studies in the applicant’s chosen PG program.

The MSN program is offered completely via distance learning with specialisation in either nursing administration or nursing education. The School of Education also has the option for a certificate course of advanced studies in Educational Leadership along with a post-baccalaureate certificate in Special Education Leadership for its students as well. The decision depends on the date of application reception. The average time is 2 weeks, but students are advised to send the applications as soon as possible for early decision.
