You’ll gain knowledge and skills that are important for any teaching career as you take 93 to 104 credit hours towards a Bachelor of Arts degree, and the music education curriculum meets the Minnesota Department of Education requirements for a teaching credential (passage of standardized examinations of content and pedagogy are also required).

Students majoring in Secondary Education at Concordia will develop the skills and insights to become effective middle school or high school teachers and life-long learners. A variety of specialties are available that allow students to customize their major to the subject area in which they would like to teach. Because of Minnesota’s rigorous teacher licensure standards, students graduating from the state’s colleges and universities are favorably regarded nationwide.
