Duke University Department of Arts champions an expansive and inclusive approach to the arts on campus, throughout Durham, and beyond – showcasing world-class creators and performers, cultivating artists and scholars, and supporting the creation of new works. They foster the study and the expression of art at all levels and across all forms of creative practice – including music, visual art, dance, cinema, theatre, literary, and experimental arts. Duke is a home for new art by visiting artists, faculty and students committed to artistic innovation. Duke Arts provides a number of exciting and dynamic programs that allow students throughout Duke to develop their interest in the arts. Students who engage in the arts are eligible for a number of funding and awards opportunities.
