University of Cincinnati’s Students gain experience teaching in urban and diverse school settings and using research-based teaching practices to meet the needs of all learners in their classes. An Integrated Social Studies license prepares students to teach all social studies subject areas in grades 7-12 in Ohio schools. Students will complete course work across all social studies areas including U.S. History, World History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, and electives such as Sociology and Psychology. All students will be prepared to plan and lead instruction that centers inquiry at the heart of social studies, engages learners in critical thinking, and develops collaborative and deliberative discourse across the social studies .
