Life at ASU.

AL
7.7 /10

It was a really good experience. I got to learn about many new and cutting edge technologies used in the industry. Also I worked on many interesting academic projects while studying at ASU, that I can also add on my resume. Campus is very huge, with so many facilities. There are three libraries well equiped with facilities to help you study. ASU also has a student community - Pitchfork Pantry, where they provide free and nutritious food to students every week. There is also a monthly distribution where they provide fruits, eggs and all foods. ASU has so many interesting clubs, like the Astronomy club where they meet every week and also do star-gazing after the meeting.

Course Curriculum :

Course Curriculum is very well designed at ASU. The course include Projects, and were aimed to test everything that you learnt during the session. the projects mainly focused on using the real-time applications, like AWS was used in the course Cloud Computing.

Exams :

My scores: GRE 148 Verbal 164 Quant 4.0 Writing; TOEFL - 101/120 Class minimum score: GRE 310; TOEFL 80. Required to submit SOP and CV. Please try to mention something about the work of any professor at the university you are trying to apply, and how it inspired you to apply.

Placement :

There are plenty of labs available at ASU, that belongs to many different professors and you can contact the professor if you are interested to to Ph.D. Like for professor who taught Cloud Computing had lab named - IMPACT Lab.

Internship :

No, I have been working on-campus.

Fees :

Tuition fees is around $15000 per semester. You need to take 3 subjects in each semester (except for last semester where you take 1 subject). Each subject is of 3 units and per unit fee at ASU is $1600. Apart from this the per semester fee also includes insurance, gym fees and international support fees.

Scholarship :

No Scholarship.

Faculty :

Professor Hannah Kerner who taught Data Mining course left an incredible impact on me. She has worked in NASA and works on research projects funded by NASA. She was very professional and also very well approachable outside the classroom.

Campus Life :

There are many clubs at ASU. I have joined clubs like Astronomy clud, HackerDevils Club and Connecting International Community club. Campus is very big with three libraries available, with a lot of space for you to study. One of the library has individual study rooms which are very useful during exams.

Hostel :

I was living at off-campus housing, where we shared room with 3 other students. Our monthly rent was $450 per person and additional $50 per person for utilities like WiFi, Electricity, Water, Gas.
