UIUC Student Review

RR
7.7 /10

My college experience so far has been very rewarding because I have grown tremendously as a person and as a learner. Been able to learn to adapt to new circumstances and adjust to variations to normal life and adversity. Been able to control mood swings from excitement to disappointment. Also formed great relationships with amazing people around me.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum in some aspects is very relevant and dynamically updated but occasionally a little laggard for conceptual topics with little to no changes. UIUC Gies Business does a good job with keeping up with industry trends and provides in class and out of class industry experiences through case projects, assignments and guest lectures.

Exams :

My Scores are as follows: SAT in 2019: 1320 - 700 Math, 620 English IELTS in 2019: 7 Exams have evolved since, scores now may need to be higher for admission. CV - Background, Experiences, Marks, Extracurricular Activities SOP - Forward looking statements for goals and purposes and plans of accomplishment. LOR - Statements by recommenders on competency and assurance.

Placement :

Depends on the economy but the University has alumni and affiliations with multiple companies that recruit from UIUC. Mainly big tech and big 4 accounting firms to procure top talent. Many companies look to recruit young talent from this flagship state university during career fairs and hiring seasons.

Internship :

Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago - Summer 2022 intern - $6,000/Summer - 5 rounds of interviews after application EY - Summer 2023 Intern - $8000/summer - 2 rounds of interviews after application.

Fees :

Tuition: $54,000 (International) Other costs including housing and miscellaneous: $20,000.

Scholarship :

No scholarship.

Faculty :

70:1. Faculty and staff are very knowledgeable, hard working and friendly. Very approachable and kind since they want you to succeed. Faculty who have impacted my experience for the better: June Young Kim Rachel Schwartz Ed Rogowski Julia Shapland Gopesh Anand

Campus Life :

The campus life is very robust and happening at first but it slows down since there isn’t much to do in Champaign since it’s a college town. But there are very well maintained facilities for learning, training and studying with state of the art libraries, academic instructional facilities, gyms and research labs. The Wi-Fi on campus is also very fast, never a problem.

Hostel :

Living in an apartment 10 minutes walk from most places on campus: 4 bed 4 bath fully furnished and amenities included: $900/month. Rent increases every year. Well maintained and maintenance requests fulfilled quickly.
