I did not imagine I would end up at ASU when I was applying to colleges. But somehow it was written in my destiny to come here, so I accepted it. I had this image of an "ordinary" college for ASU. But after coming here, I realized that ordinary college is all you need to succeed through hard work. I am having a great time at ASU, both in terms of living and studying. I wish I could get an on-campus job, but that's hard everywhere.
Course Curriculum :
I have been given a research opportunity through more where I work 5 hours a week on a research project with my professor and I get 1600$ at the end of the year. The courses are good as well most of the opportunity are easy. tough courses are only the ones with the tough grading professor.
Exams :
My Score: GRE 325 160 Verbal 165 Quant 4 Writing;, TOEFL 117(R 30, L 30, S 29, W 28). Mention why CS is important to you. If you don't emphasize that then they might just put you in the other programs like software or IT, which are not that good. Also it is good to have multiple internships if possible on your resume so even consider doing unpaid internships.
Placement :
No companies come to recruit here they only come here for career fair. Hiring is through their website only.
Internship :
No, no co-op for me.
Fees :
For 1 semester 17000$.
Faculty :
James collofelllo. I have taken his software testing class and he is super organized in terms of modules and materials. Also my research mentor heewook lee is extremely smart in bio informatics.
Campus Life :
Lots of clubs and events that provide valuable memories and free food. I join them every week to try and interact with other people. It is more than my expectations compared to India.
Hostel :
I live off campus. I have 400$ rent. I share it with 2 other people. It is kind of costly given that you are living in a non-established state. But I think Phoenix is 5th largest city in US so it is kind of big deal compared to other cities here. Living is great off campus because I have Gujrati communities.
