Gahlawat Arpit Review at Duke University, Durham | Collegedunia

Duke University MEM

GA
8.3 /10

It was amazing. I love everything about Duke. The sense of belongingness, basket ball, its gothic architecture, my course and even the people around you. You learn something new everyday and in every class.

Course Curriculum :

It is really good. You get to work on live case studies, real industry projects and good experience when it comes to projects similar to what happens in the outside professional world.

Exams :

My GRE score was 313/340 (Quants - 163 Verbal - 150) My TOEFL score was 107/120 I had to submit three LORs (two academic and one professional) along with a SOP and a resume. SOP lengths/constraints varies based on university. I had a round of digital video recorded interview. I think be clear about why you want to go to that university and how your value align with the university values.

Placement :

Students have to search for jobs on their own but with real time projects from industries outside in the courses open up new opportunities for students to get exposed to US job market.

Internship :

I worked at FINRA. My application process was mostly cold applying and connecting people for referrals.

Fees :

60000 USD for 18 months tuition.

Scholarship :

Nope no scholarship.

Faculty :

Professor Daniel Eggar was one of the first people to come up with search algorithms even when google wasn't relevant. He has two most popular courses in the world on coursera and he is also a entrepreneur. He has left a huge impact in my life.

Campus Life :

Everything is amazing. You get best sports infrastructure and basket ball is a big thing here. The library is beautiful. The whole campus seems like a Hogwarts campus.

Hostel :

Durham is a cheap place when compared to other places at USA.
