Overall experience is good, just as every university UTA has it ups and downs but I would prefer to attend the university with more diversified students.
Course Curriculum :
UTA is in the top 10% regarding civil engineering courses and they have done a lot of research in geotechnical, structural and traffic engineering.
Exams :
My GRE score is 300 (taken in 2018) (verbal - 142, quants - 158) IELTS score is 7.5 (writing - 6, listening - 7.5, reading - 8.5, speaking -7) (taken in 2017). LORs, SOP are a must as they are the indicators about who we are. Do not copy SOP from peers, be honest and express who you are and why you want to pick a certain course. No interviews required apart from the visa interview at the consulate.
Placement :
I have not been to campus placements as they are not suggestible to the average students like me. LinkedIn is a great platform to find a job. Being from UTA it is easier to get hired.
Fees :
$36000 including tuition and living expenses.
Faculty :
Mr. Abomali, Ms. Kermensachi and the professor for sustainable engineering are the top faculty in terms of research.
Campus Life :
Campus life is great, all you need is nearby and being in the state of no public transport, the university provides shuttle rides across the city. Infrastructure is top-notch and extra curriculars are great too.
Hostel :
There is campus housing available but its hard to get in but there are numerous apartments to rent around the university.
