University of York Language Programs

At University of York, The department offers modern languages degrees, postgraduate courses, language electives to include within any degree, and evening courses open to all, allowing you to pursue your language learning journey in the way that suits you best. These programs are designed to develop your linguistic and cultural knowledge, enhance your interpersonal and intercultural skills and broaden your understanding of your place in a multilingual world.  As part of your degree, you can choose to take up the study of a brand new language (ab initio route) and/or build on your previous study of languages (post-A Level route).
